My Boyfriend’s A Rock Star
By Artine Gutierrez/ Blood Cycle
The alley was dark as Arianna’s foot step pounded heavily on the concrete. Her hair bouncing from behind roughly waving in the wind. Her eyes slowly wanting to look back, but fear held her back and all she could do is focus on the middle of the alley. Her throat tightened up as she realized she was nearly holding her breath the entire she was running. She quickly looked back to see no one was following her now, so she stop and leaned over as she tried to catch her breathe. “What was up with those people?” Her eyes opened wide as she realized Zeff wasn’t around. Her heart nearly stopped for a moment. She was all alone now. Now one around to hear a helpless girl’s scream. With a hard roughness, she forced herself to gulp down her next breathe and said to herself aloud.
“Good! Deserves him right!” Arianna crossed her arms. He shouldn’t have done whatever he done! That good for nothing trouble maker!” Arianna then started to walk onward down the alley as guilt now started to form in her heart. “Then again.” She slowly looked back to see where she had come into.
“Is he okay?” A few seconds after she turned her head harshly. “Of course he is! He outran me before.” Her memory shot back to the day of the sports festival. He didn’t seem so bad. Then the time when she was in the alley and he showed up. That first time she saw him at the concert. It was like….
“He is okay!” Arianna said as she flipped her phone out and dialed his number and waited as the phone rang. It rang and rang and rang, but no answer. She then slammed it shut. “He will be okay! I know it!” her voice shook. Without a second thought she turned around and kicked the ground and then turned back and started to continue through the alley way.
The alley was dark and dam due to the water dripping down from broken pipes. A trash can fell over as a black cat jumped out and hissed at Arianna. She paid no attention to it and continued on her way. The wind blew harshly as small moans started to come out from the large wooden crates stood at the edge of a building. Her eyes did not move as a shadowy figure slowly rushed in front of her and disappear half way with the moaning growing louder and then echoed into nothing as it vanished. Her eyes stayed glued to the alley as she searched for an exit. As she gotten further she came across boxes, one tilted with the opening on its side. A dark and fowl odor came from the inside. SO bad that she had to cover her nose and hold her breath from gagging on the unpleasant sent.
As she got towards the entrance as raggedy figure slowly started to crawl out. Nearly bold with grey hair, and old man appeared with a cup in his hand and held it up to her. He looked like he was in his late eighties or something. His teeth nearly missing. “Spare change.” He asked in a weary voice.
“Agh!” Arianna cried out in fear as he came closer to her, looking up from his box straight into her eyes. Her heart dropped heavily as he grin a dark grin at her. “Agh!” She ran off in fear. She started to gag as she ran, breathing in the bad odor but forced herself to keep on going.
“Awe, there goes another pretty girl.” The old hobo said to himself. He then laid himself back into the box hut and went back to sleep.
Arianna ran passed a few entrances and continued along the long and narrow path. Her breath echoed throughout the alley as fear slowly started to lose its power over her. When she finally came to her normal senses she stopped and started to take a few more deep breaths to try to calm her nerves down. A figure slowly walked up from behind her. Their hand slowly moving toward her shoulder. Slower, slower until it was inches from her arm. Arianna could feel a cold presents behind. And eerie feeling that couldn’t be shaken or stirred away. The hand gripped her arm firmly to ensure she wouldn’t run.
