Chapter 21

~Lily's P.O.V.~

I got up extra early this morning to go see Ty. Today was the day before his hearing.

Throwing on a casual outfit, I left a note on the counter and grabbed Brooke's keys.

As I pulled into the LAPD, I braced myself. This'll be tough...

"I'm here to see Ty Daniels." I firmly stated.

"Well, hello there." Smiled the same officer that helped me see Ty in the interrogation room.

"Hi." I said plainly.

"Ty will be very pleased to see his girlfriend." The officer smirked.

"Oh, we aren't dating." I stated.

"Oh... Sure." He replied with a small grin.

"I'm officer Jones by the way." He smiled.

"I'm Lily." I replied with a friendly smile.

Walking through the jail cells and getting a few weird looks, we finally reached a stop and officer Jones pointed over to one guy who was lying on his back. I just smiled and thanked officer Jones.

Slowly walking towards Ty, I stared down at him forcing myself not to cry.

He swiftly turned to look at me and jumped up.

"Lily!"

"Hey..." I smiled.

I had my hands resting on the bars until he took my hand in his.

"How are you?" He asked.

"I've been better." I replied with a frown.

"Me too..." He sighed.

"This isn't fair..." I said shutting my eyes. The bars were pretty far apart so when he leaned his head between the bars, I leaned my forehead onto his. We just stood there staring down at our locked fingers.

"Don't worry, you're gonna get out of here tomorrow!" I said encouragingly.

"Don't be so sure." He sighed, tuning to walk around, but my hand was still tightly clinging to his so he didn't move.

"You're innocent and that will be proven tomorrow!" I exclaimed. Ty just stared at me with a small smile on his face.

He reached his other hand through the bars and wiped away a tear that I didn't even realise was falling.

"I love you." Ty smiled, kissing my forehead. I felt so bad by the way I responded.

"I know..."

Ty just sighed, but still held on to my hand. I know he wants me to say it back, but I just can't right now.

"Are you coming tomorrow?" He asked.

"Of course!"

"Good."

"I wouldn't miss it!" I replied with another small smile.

We stood there just staring into each other's eyes.

"Ma'am, how did you get down here?" Asked an officer, who I had never seen before.

"I uh, asked..." I responded.

"Well, I'd appreciate it if you left. This area is for no visitors." He said then stalked off.

"I guess I should go." I sighed.

"Ok... I'll see you tomorrow." He said taking my hand again. Ty gently kissed the top of my head.

"See you tomorrow." I smiled. I pulled him closer and reached up to kiss cheek.

He squeezed my hand as I pulled away.

Ty didn't want me to leave and I didn't want to either.

~Brooke's P.O.V.~

McKinlee, Austin, Will and I had been searching all morning for evidence that Ty was innocent. But it was no use. This was an old abandoned shack. No cameras of security footage could help us. Nothing! Everything led to a dead end.

"So what do we do now?" McKinlee asked.

"There's nothing to find here." Austin sighed.

"I know..." Will and I breathed.

We were just about to walk out when there was a creak by the door.

"Who's there?" Austin asked.

Just then 2 people creeped out from behind the door. A guy and a girl.

"Uh... Hi." I smiled.

"Hello." The male said.

"Um... Who are you?" The girl asked.

"I could ask you the same thing." Will scoffed.

"Will!" I scolded, elbowing him in the side. He coughed and muttered an apology.

"I'm Maria." A dark haired girl smiled.

"And I'm her boyfriend, Oliver." The tall male stated with a small accent.

"Oh. Well, nice to meet you." McKinlee stated. We introduced ourselves too, but I kept wondering something.

"If you don't mind me asking... Why are you two hanging around in a dump, like here?" I asked, curious.

"We don't hang around in this dump. We both live in the house across the street. And there's a trail, that we like to jog, running along this block." Oliver informed.

"Oh." We all replied.

"And we just so happened to be jogging near by when we heard the screams of your friend." Maria added.

We all froze.

"Oh my gosh." Austin said with his mouth hanging open.

"What we've finally been looking for!" McKinlee exclaimed.

"Witnesses..." I said to myself.

It started to rain and the roof of the small shack started to leak. So all of us, including Oliver and Maria decided to go grab something to eat.

"We saw the whole thing. We saw him drag her out of a car and into the shack. He locked the door behind him. We tried to get in without being heard, but that didn't work. We rushed and hid behind a large bin as we opened the door to look around Then the screams grew louder and louder. Neither one of us had our phones with us. By time we had ran home, gotten them and ran back we saw a truck pull up. The guy jumped out and kicked the door in." Oliver explained.

"And you saw everything?" Will asked.

"Everything." Maria said firmly.

"You're friend killed the bastard in self defence. Anyone who's okay with beating up a girl should be in serious trouble." Oliver exclaimed.

"Before we could help, your friend, had everything taken care of everything. He'd called 911. Even though we already did and he had secured his and the girl's safety." Oliver added.

"And before you think we are weird and sick for not helping instead, just hear me out. My dad is a cop. And he's taught me a lot about crimes and situations like this. There's more then one way to help." Maria declared.

"Since we couldn't break the door in. We chose the second way to help." Oliver explained.

"So what are you saying?" Asked McKinlee.

"I'm saying..." Maria started, but Oliver finished her sentence.

"We got most of this on tape."
