Zoey & Dren Forbidden Love (Book 1)

Chapter 6: Where Beauty Lies

Dren had had enough he disappeared leaving the Cineclone world and went to the blue planet to seek out Zoey. "She can't be dead she can't be I can feel it" Dren said flying to where he could sense Zoey.

It was late and Cafe Mew Mew was closed. Everyone was going home after working a hard day shift, Zoey still hadn't woken up and it looked like it would take a miracle or something to wake her. Mark had visited her later that day taking her hand in his next to her bedside everyone thought that Mark might wake her but she didn't. It was dead midnight and the Cafe was quiet with no sign of anyone, the lights were off, the doors were locked and the windows were closed. Dren sensed Zoey at the Cafe, he quietly floated to the window and there she was lying on a bed with a heart rate meter right next to her. Dren quietly opened the window trying not to draw any attention towards the Cafe and climbed inside. Once inside he held Zoey's hands in his, she was still, she didn't stir, she didn't move, just lay there in no response. Dren held her hand in his for a few minutes, they were cold, they didn't move and they were as still as they had ever been on the count of times she had used both her hands to shoot power from her Rose Bell. Dren looked down at her almost in tears how could he let her be like this, in this way, this position. He looked at her for several moments still holding her hand "oh my dear Zoey" he said "how could they do this to you you're in here because of me." Dren's tears came once again as he looked at her limp body he could tell that she was in a coma and that she was still alive but all he wanted was for them to be together no matter what that meant. He kissed her forehead and let her hand go, sitting himself down next to her on her bed "please hear me Zoey" he said softly "please come back to me." Suddenly Zoey began to move and the heart monitor began beeping like crazy. "Oh no no" Dren cried realising her heart rate was dropping. "No! I will not lose you again" taking the chance Dren steadied her and began to give her air. It was only a couple of minutes before the heart monitor stopped beeping and resumed it's natural beep as Zoey's heart rate started to rise up again, the good news was that she was ok. Dren fell on top of her gasping for air as he had just gave half of it over to his Zoey but he didn't care he wanted her to live even if it meant that he wouldn't. Serveral minutes later Dren caught his breath and got up. He looked at Zoey who was still asleep in her coma but alive "I'm so glad your going to be ok" Dren said softly "your in here because of me" he sighed and layed next to her. Dren wrapped his arms around her and stayed with her all night long watching over her until he fell asleep.

The next morning Dren woke and quickly looked over him to see if Zoey was still ok. She was and was cuddling up to him he figured she'd just felt safe with him even after all the things that he did to her in the past. Resting his head against hers he smiled and held her in his arms. Suddenly Dren heard a lock turn, it was the front door being unlocked and the sound of girls talking. Dren quickly but carefully let go of Zoey putting her hands over her chest, he bent down and kissed her lightly on the lips and climbed out of the open window, closing it behind him. Dren floated into the air and disappeared into the sky.
