Chapter 7: Hope

All four Mew Mew's came in through the front door to Cafe Mew Mew. It was early morning and was about 6:30am. "Ugh I'm so tired why did we have to come in so early on a Saturday" Cerena whined walking through the door "Maybe it's because we open in half an hour" Renee walked past her without complaint. "I feel totally great!" Kikki said cheerfully and full of energy. As soon as everyone was inside they sat down for awhile to relax Cerena had fell asleep on the table where she would always drink her tea, Bridget and Renee were putting up a sign that said 'Strawberry Shortcake On Sale Today' and Kikki was balancing plates and practicing magnificent tricks to entertain the customers when they arrived. Meanwhile Zoey began to open her eyes slowly "hey finally awake I see" Zoey looked around to see who was speaking but couldn't make out who as her vision was too blurry to see. "H-huh? Who is there?" She asked trying to regain her eyesight "oh come on you've known me for awhile now" he broke into a slight chuckle as Zoey's vision came into focus, a blond headed guy with a black leather jacket and red chocker around his neck stood in front of her smiling. "Elliot?" Zoey tried to sit up and giggled slightly "oh no no of course I wouldn't forget you." Smiling she sat up and looked at him "so" Elliot cleared his throat "how are you feeling?." "Better" Zoey said, she got out of bed and tried to stand but stumbled and fell "hey woah careful" Elliot had caught her before she fell on the ground, she was in his arms now and blushed. "Are you ok?" Elliot looked at her concerned "I-I'm f-fine" she said nervously. "Good" Elliot put her back on the bed slowly "you need to rest before you can go running and trying to walk again to get away from being weak" he said chuckling slightly. "Y-yeah" Zoey laughed a little "well I better go and tell the others your awake and that your ok, I must admit I was pretty worried about you" he walked towards the door. "Yeah ok I guess I'll see you later then" Zoey said smiling "sure just make sure you get some rest now you hear?" Elliot left the room at a slow pace and went into the dinning place. Zoey decided to try walking again, she got up and started to walk slowly but suddenly she fell "oh gosh I am never going to walk again" she said on the floor.

A few hours later Zoey was back on her feet after a lot of rest and was waiting tables. "Well she made a great recovery just look at her" Bridget said "table 7 here's your shortcakes on the double, yep I didn't forget your milk shakes here they are for table 10, oh don't worry I will get that chocolate chunk cake for you guys, cake for table 5 coming right up." Everyone couldn't help but laugh, the old Zoey was back in action "I think she's recovered alittle too good" Elliot said smirking.

It was a long day of working at the Cafe but Zoey kept everyone on their feet and Wesley decided to close the cafe early. Everyone was going home but Zoey decided to stay later to mop the floor. Meanwhile Dren decided to go back and visit her again, he appeared outside the Cafe and smiled seeing her work through the window. "Oh gosh Elliot I don't mind waiting tables but really you make me stay later to clean the floors?" Zoey put down the mop to take a break and sat by a table. The Cafe was quiet and only Zoey was around, Elliot had told her to lock up the Cafe when she was finished and decided to go home. Dren was watching her, he slowly opened the window and climbed inside "so your here alone are you Kitty Cat" Zoey turned around "oh Dren hi... wait what! Dren what are you doing here the Mew Mew's and my bosses are going to kill me and probably you if they catch us together!." Zoey continued to freak out "hey hey" Dren grabbed her and put a hand over her mouth "calm down." Zoey looked up, Dren was holding her, he smiled and removed his hand "I missed you and I'm so glad you woke up... I needed to see you" he said softly. Zoey blushed "I... missed you too" she looked away wondering what to say. "You had me worried sick I thought I was going to lose you, I stayed with you all night last night" Dren looked into her eyes "I'm ok now I just took a nasty blow that's all you won't lose me... not ever" Zoey said, she smiled and looked into Dren's eyes "so what are you doing here then?." Dren stroked her face with one hand "well I just wondered if you wanted to go somewhere with me?" Zoey blushed and pulled away from him "are you crazy! Your a Cineclone if I'm seen with you people will think I'm-" Dren cut her off "you're what? Going out with me?," he smirked and crossed his arms. Zoey walked closer to him "your such a jerk you know that!" She said alittle angry, Dren sighed "why is that so bad I only want to tell you something so please will you come along?." Zoey looked at him as he held his hand out to her, she sighed "well what have I got to lose... and besides if I am seen with you I'll just pretend I'm kicking your butt," Dren laughed "your so cute when you crack a joke." Zoey blushed and took his hand. Before they left Cafe Mew Mew she locked up and Dren and her walked down the street. It was nearly evening and the sun was about to set but Zoey didn't mind right now whether she could have believed it or not she was well and truly on a date with one of her arched enemies Dren the one thing she wouldn't have expected to happen before.
