Chapter 9: To Know

It was early morning at Cafe Mew Mew and Zoey was humming to herself as she washed the tables. "Ugh what is with her she's been like this for an hour" Cerena said her patience not very great as she was in a bad mood that morning. "I don't know but she seems cheerful" Bridget looked over at Zoey "oh come on something seems odd" Cerena was pacing back and forth now "what can be so important?." Kikki walked over to Zoey "everything ok Zoey did you and that guy have an enchanting night yesterday" Zoey immediately dropped the handkerchief and looked over at Kikki "what! What are you talking about Kikki? I was walking home by myself yesterday I wasn't with a guy." Suddenly all the Mew Mew's gathered around her table "uhhh what?" Zoey looked at them all "girl spill the details Renee and Kikki said they saw you and some guy fly in the air then walk back to your place" Cerena demanded. "I uh..." Zoey was stuck "oh no I am done for they must've saw me and Dren last night gotta think gotta think c'mon think Zoey think." Zoey looked at them all "I... can explain" they all looked at her "so when is your next date?" Kikki asked "it wasn't a date he just wanted to talk and anyway you wouldn't believe me if I told you who I was with anyway" Zoey turned back to clean the tables. "It sounds to me like you were with someone who could fly was it the blue knight?" Renee placed a hand on her shoulder "no it was not it was someone else ok!" Zoey moved to the next table slightly angry. "Wow since when did you get to be so secrecy" Renee said turning away in disgust. Zoey couldn't take it anymore "ok! Ok! I went out with Dren are you happy!" Zoey covered her mouth realising what she had just said, all the Mew Mew's stared with shock "you what?!" They all surrounded her. "I  went out to drent yeah that's it I was hungry and wanted to eat some place Eh ha ha ha" Zoey said. "Riiiight sure whatever that doesn't interest me anyway" Cerena sat down at a table drinking her tea, Zoey sighed "I think I'm gonna go outside for some fresh air" Zoey made a break for the door "be back soon" and with that she was gone.

Zoey was outside sat on the Cafe steps "ugh nice one Zoey so much for keeping you being in love with a Cineclone a secret" she thought and sighed. "Hey" Zoey looked up "oh hi Renee" she said "look I came to talk to you you can tell me anything I can keep a secret" Renee winked at her. Zoey sighed "well I you see... Renee do you promise this is kinda a deepest darkest secret and the guys would kill me if they found out" Renee sighed "sure but what did you do c'mon I'm sure it's not that bad" she smiled at Zoey. Zoey took a deep breath "I fell in love with a Cineclone" she hung her head in shame "and it was Dren." At first Renee thought she was kidding but then she stared her in the face "wait what! Zoey how could you he's trying to trick you into believing he is good" Renee said "but he is good" Zoey interupted "he saved my life twice and he went against Sardon and Tarb he-" Renee raised a hand and stopped her interupting "Zoey!.... Listen to me he's lying to you it's all an act put on, he doesn't care about anyone, he just wants to take over the world and he never loved you and never will!." Zoey sighed nearly in tears "b-but he's changed he wants nothing more to do with them he-" Renee interupted again "no he hasn't Zoey it's no use believing it he's lying to you and he's just using you to take what's his." Renee got up and headed inside leaving Zoey to think about what she just said "it can't be true Dren would never he" Zoey broke down into tears before she could finish maybe she was better off not being a Mew Mew, maybe she should had ran while she could had a long time ago, maybe she shouldn't had kissed Dren before.

Meanwhile Dren was thinking about Zoey and the plan "it's not fair I can't do this to her it's like I'm using her and besides he did try to kill her" Dren thought to himself. Suddenly Sardon came out of nowhere "is the plan finished yet Dren?" He said "well I.. Not just yet but I will finish it shortly," Dren looked into the green sky. Sardon frowned "very well but do hurry it up who knows what the Mew Mew's have against us" Sardon left with a grump. Dren sighed "oh Zoey I really wish I don't have to use you like this but..." Dren lowered his head "I don't have a choice."
