Chapter 8: Heart By Heart

Zoey and Dren walked for a long time until Dren stopped them. "I have something to show you" he said "ready?" Zoey looked at him as he picked her up "oh no no not ready no I can't" Zoey covered her eyes. Dren looked at her "it's ok I won't let you go I promise" Dren said softly "just hold onto me and you'll be fine, I won't let you fall, do you trust me?." Zoey looked into his eyes "trust is a very strong word coming from someone like you, you might drop me and kill me I... I don't know if I can trust you" tears started to form in Zoey's eyes. Dren held her in his arms and rested his head next to hers "you can trust me I promise with all my heart I won't drop you that was when I was taking orders from my master." Zoey's eyes locked with Dren's and she put her head on his shoulder "ok I trust you" she whispered "but please don't drop me." Dren looked at her and they both drifted really high into the sky. At first Zoey had her eyes covered but then something bright caught her face and she turned around "what is?." Zoey suddenly realised that they were in front of a beautiful sunrise and gasped in surprise "oh Dren its beautiful" she said watching it. Dren looked at her and smiled "yes just like you" Zoey looked at him and blushed "Dren I.. Stop im not beautiful" she said "yes you are" Dren looked offended "your everything why can't you see that" he said softly. Zoey smiled maybe she was wrong about Dren maybe he did care for her, she looked deep into Dren's eyes and leaned closer. Dren looked back at her and leaned in, they were both inches away from each other's lips. Zoey rested her head against Dren's and smiled watching the sunrise. "So what did you want to tell me?" Zoey asked "well I just wanted to know before you passed out in my arms what was your finishing sentence?." Zoey blushed "oh snap I forgot about that I hope he didn't hear the whole sentence" she thought to herself. "Oh um nothing I... I" Dren leaned in "please just tell me I won't hate you I promise how could I hate someone so amazing, talented and beautiful." Zoey blushed redder "I... ok I will tell you" she said at last. "You see ever since that day when we um... kissed well I just wanted to say that I've... I've always loved you from that day and I just wanted to tell you that I do love you back." Dren smiled and held her close, they both leaned in and kissed each other deeply under the sunset.

Later Dren took Zoey home and kissed her goodnight. "I love you my Kitty Cat" he said softly, Zoey smiled and kissed him back "I love you too Dren." Dren smiled and left and Zoey went inside her room and got into her bed, she never thought she would love Dren not ever as they were enemies she also never thought of how she was going to explain this to the other Mew Mew's, Wesley and Elliot but she knew that their love was a forbidden one.
