Louis hasn't slept that bad in quite some time. He woke up at four still in front of the door. He sat upright and memories from the previous night rushed back to him immediately.

A handful of months ago this would have been the best time of day for me and him, now look at us, Louis thought with a heavy heart. The pain in his back was the least of his concerns at that moment.

His damn ex, the one he tried to get away from, was now living in the same city. Even better - the same apartment complex. And why not just put the cherry on the damn cake?! Right across the hall from him! It has to be some sick joke, he thought again.

''Shouldn't have fucking thought he'd like it here. For fucks sake. Now look where we are,'' Louis mumbled. Letting out a groan as he stood up from the floor, his back feeling like it was broken.

He came all the way from Cheshire to make my days a living hell and give me back pain, lovely! Louis thought with an angry sigh.

He was still bitter. Whether it was over the breakup, the cheating, his living situation with Harry across from him or his back, he honestly couldn't pin it. It was probably a mix of everything put together.

His mind was too awake for him to go back to sleep. He needed a good distraction. And that's how Louis was seated at twenty minutes past four with his glasses constantly slipping off of his nose with some coffee and working on some documents he had taken home from work, since he hadn't finished them in the time he had at his job.

He was proud that he got a respectable amount of emails sorted and his work on the documents started.

When he checked again it was time to head off to said job. So Louis did what needed to do, the usual routine; brushing teeth, ironing that horrid crease in his dress shirt. The same routine that he had started to get use to.

Louis turned around after he locked his door only to find his glasses slipping onto the floor, luckily not cracking. Before he could think about picking them up they were held out to him by no one other that his lovely ex.

''You forgot to pick up your contacts again, '' Harry stated, his nose crinkling cutely, a big smile on his face. Why did Harry have to be such a nice ex? The type that remind you with everything they do why you loved them in the first place?

It pissed Louis off.

''To be honest?'' Louis gave him an extremely fake smile which made Harry's drop immediately, ''I just wanted to wear my glasses today. Trying something different once in awhile, you understand what I mean of course.'' With that Louis pushed past Harry and made his way down the stairs.

His day had actually turned out worse than it had been the previous day. He had run into Harry, his boss yelled at him, it turned out he worked on the wrong document that morning and his co-worker was absent which meant he had to do all the fucking work.

So when it was time to go home Louis was more than grateful and relieved. He make his way to his favourite little restaurant that had a bar, two blocks from the office building. It was a casual styled place that mainly served things to snack on and many people came only to sit down and drink their coffee while others drank beer and cocktails.

Louis made his way over to the bar, waiting to be waited on by the waiter.

''Good evening! What can I get for yo- oh! Louis, um, hi,'' Harry blushes, fumbling with his hand as he over at the older boy.

What had he done in his past life to deserve this?

''Fancy that, will you? Keep running into you around every. Damn. Corner," Louis comments distastefully. It was like he was teleported back to Cheshire.
