It Went a Little Somethin Like this

The Last Day

             Alarm ringing, eyes open in a flash, I then get up, turning off my alarm, as I looked at the time. It was 7 o'clock I believe, as I tried to work out the numbers shown, with my eyes in a blur. I immediately rushed, putting on my clothes,  putting my sweater on, then backpack, as my cereal is forced down my throat. It was like any other day, except this was the last. As I was going to leave the door, I said my goodbyes to my my mother and older sisters. But it always seemed as if everyday had some twist to it, never have I had any luck. As soon as I closed the door, I had forgotten one thing, as I shouted to my step dad, 'MY GLASSES!!', he gave me a stern look, he always intended to be grouchy in the mornings. He then handed me the keys, as I go back into the house again, and my mother hands me my glasses, she says 'TGIF' (Thank God It's Friday) I looked at her, and said the same, while in my head, I screamed, in shock that today was Friday. I am a very forgetful person, which gave me a lot of problems towards my teachers, student's, and I. 

       I go back to the car, with my grouchy step dad, as he driven me to school, I really didn't want to go. But there was one reason, that made me want to go. You see, there was this guy, I know, silly right? But hey , don't judge !! We all been through this, at least most of us have. His name was Edgar, he was an 8th grader, I was a 7th grader, which only made it worse. I had this HUGE crush on this guy, but there was one problem, we were best friends, I thought that was all we would ever be, although we considered each other sister and brother. Not just that, but there was also another problem, again, HE'S AN 8TH GRADER !! It was near the end of the school year anyway, so even if I did have a chance, it wouldn't have lasted. As I arrive to school, I see my other best friends, my 'family' but, there was also another problem, I know, I am a problematic girl, no need to remind me okay. Anyways, one of them, I use to have a crush on, It was Edgar's BEST FRIEND/ BRO, his name was Kieth, but, I was a mega nerd, and he was an Athletic guy, and his interest in girls seemed to be the typical, barbie doll looking ones, if you know what I mean. That's when I gave up, and became interested in Edgar's cousin, Jerome, but when I found out they were cousins !! I lost interest in Jerome in a blink of an eye, he was a jerk anyway.

       Going back to Edgar, I walked up to my locker, as I slightly turn my head, he was there. While putting my stuff away, he walked up to me, my heart was beating really fast at that moment. He intended to mess up my hair, and take my glasses, as he would like any day, but I never seemed to like Fridays, because I then would have to wait two more days just to see him again. We talked for a few minutes, before we were off to our classes. I had gym that day, I hated gym. As my first period was over, I then went to my second, which was science of course. Now that was something that I loved. Plus by the time I go to science, was when Edgar had gone to math, which was on the same floor !! I went to go get a drink of water, when he comes up behind me and messes with me again. Until his bro Kieth came along. I despised Kieth because every time Edgar and I were alone, he would always ruin the moment, or make me embarrassed. So I ran off to science, and let them talk, but as I turned to look back, I saw Edgar looking at me, which warmed my heart.

       As I resume to science, I sat down in my seat thinking. 'Why do I even like him? I mean, I shouldn't even like him anyways', I thought to myself that it would do me no good. I wasn't really listening in science class that day, I was mostly day dreaming, thinking, and talking to my best friend, Iris. She supported me, and knew me better than anyone ! As we were talking she had her speculations towards Edgar and I. She would ask me questions if I had liked him or not, but I would always deny it, and she knew it. As our teacher alerts us about a field trip we would have. We then became quiet and began to listen. I was excited for the field trip because that mean't that I didn't have to stay in this school prison for most of the day. Until I realized, it also mean't I wouldn't see Edgar for the whole day. 

     Science class ended quickly, and I was off to math. Math was decent, but It could have been better if it weren't for TWO HOURS !!! As of those two hours, it went by quickly surprisingly, and I was then off to recess. I LOVED recess, because it was just only 7th and 8th grade together !! And you know what that means..... I GET TO SEE EDGAR !! I will admit I was really REALLY crazy about this guy. As I walked up to him, we had a little conversation, since Kieth came along. I despised Kieth. After Kieth came along, I just left, and went to my best friend, Bella. As I told her how much I didn't like Kieth, and how he would disrupt Edgar and I. You see, she knew I had a huge crush on Edgar because I had told her, and she did agree with the fact that Kieth did seem to break us apart when ever Edgar and I would talk or hang out. Then recess ended, and I was then off to lunch. Which was amazing !! I had pizza that day, and my lunch table was right next to Edgar's !! So we would talk across tables and such. It made my day, until, AGAIN, Kieth would get in the way, that's when Edgar would block me out, unfortunately. 

       Lunch ended, and I was off to my afternoon classes, so I went to my locker, and gathered all my stuff. Left in disappointment because I felt as if, it was hopeless between Edgar and I. As I am getting ready, I hear a voice calling my name, 'Hey Skylar', I looked and it was Edgar, as I questioned myself and said out loud, 'Me?' he walked up to me, grabbed my glasses and said,'No, who else is named Skylar here?, YES FOOL, YOU !?!' I laughed, and asked for my glasses back. But he wouldn't give them back, which made me late for my afternoon classes. As I pleaded, he returned my glasses to me and said 'fine, here' as I put them back on, and rushed to class.

     After two hours of afternoon classes put together, It was then the end of the day. I couldn't believe it. As I wait impatiently for our teacher to finally dismiss us, since she was a REAL talker, I had to keep reminding her that it was time to go. I just REALLY wanted to see Edgar, since it was Friday, and I would have to wait for two whole days to see him again. As I am packing my stuff, I turn my head to the right, that's when I see Edgar. I then start to rush, so I could talk to him, but I was too late. Kieth came along and started to talk to him !! I was angered, and slightly sad, after all this was the last day, and Kieth always spends time with him, and spends nights with him over weekend, when I can barely spend time with him for a DAY!! I couldn't believe Kieth, I was so sick of him.

     As I put my back pack on, the bell had rang. That's when I just walked straight out of the doors, I was upset, REALLY upset, I asked God why he would do this to me. That soon changed, remember how I said my days always intend to have a twist? Well, as I walked out the doors, I saw Edgar. He was going to go walk home, so I headed his way. When he saw me, he looked at me and told me 'You're so short' and smiled, I didn't like it when people would call me short, or make short jokes, or anything, but when he did it, I was unaffected by it. I just smiled and laughed. I always felt as if I was hypnotized or under a spell when ever I was around him. That's when I knew, I was stupid in love. As we reached the corner, We both had split up, and walked home. As I saw my step dad in the car, ready to drop me off home. I knew it was going to be a long weekend, and I was in shock. Why? Well, because I couldn't believe that today, was the last day.
