Mike and Chester headed back to Mike's town and made sure Chester had a checkup at the hospital immediately. He was patched up and told to take it easy and he would need to visit often to check up on the healing process. It wasn't too bad, both boys had thought. Mike had gotten an ice pack to apply to whatever felt sore and then they were both released from the hospital. Mike was glad the town was so small and not as busy lately that they weren't stopped often by anyone and asked more questions than they could answer. Mike suddenly realized something and stopped as the two were walking to his apartment.
"We totally missed Christmas," He gasped and Chester gawked at him.
"Christmas?" He echoed and Mike nodded quickly and repeatedly.
"What? Don't you know what it is?"
"I've heard of it, I've just never had it before," He admitted and Mike's eyes widened. "But I don't want to celebrate this year. We'll have our first official Christmas next year."
"Next year?" He repeated with a smirk.
"You never know. I mean I love you so why not?" He giggled and Mike kissed his nose.
"I suppose so, considering I love you too," He said. He couldn't get enough of the smaller boy. He loved him with everything he had and wanted to do anything he could to make him happy. It was impossible for him to leave the boy's side for even an instant. A moment spent without him was torture.
The two continued towards Mike's apartment and it was soon in view. Mike noticed his dad's car and decided the two should wait a while before entering the building. He stopped Chester and pressed him against the building's wall. He smiled when he felt Chester's warm breath on his face and saw him blush because of how close they were. Mike filled in what was remaining of the small space between them and kissed him, wrapping his arms around him. He felt as though nothing could ever happen when he had Chester and the smaller boy could not agree more. The two were in puppy love and couldn't get enough of each other. Mike's kisses trailed around Chester's jaw and ended up at his neck. He kissed the gentle skin and made Chester giggle again. He smiled against his soft skin and felt Chester nuzzle his nose into his hair; Chester was too sweet.
"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me," Mike admitted with a laugh and Chester smiled.
"I could not agree more, Mikey. You have already done so much for me," He said and Mike rolled his eyes.
"I didn't do anything," He debated and Chester roughly shook his head.
"You did more than you'll ever know," He said and Mike shrugged. The two shared a smile again before pushing away from the wall. Neither wanted to leave, just continue to kiss, but Mike decided it'd be best to get his dad out of the way and everything settled beforehand.
The two entered the apartment building, not long later, entering the apartment. Mike saw his dad and didn't even give him the chance to speak.
"Dad, before you say anything... This is Chester," He introduced the boy who smiled politely.
"Oh, Chester, I am so sorry I assumed you were the rapist. I didn't mean that. I was just so frustrated over-"
"Sorry to interrupt but don't worry about it, Mr. Shinoda. You didn't do anything wrong. You were acting rationally," He defended Mike's father, who grimaced in response.
"But it wasn't right of me to judge you like that."
"Maybe not but seriously, Mr. Shinoda, everything is okay. Don't worry about anything," He assured him and Miks's dad finally felt at ease. "I'm so sorry about your son by the way."
"Don't be. You have no reason to apologize. He hurt you, end of story. He had things like this coming from the second he started abusing substances. I knew he'd act out like this eventually but Mike's mom wouldn't even listen," He sighed and Mike rolled his eyes.
"Down to business, can Chester stay with us? In my room?" Mike asked, butting into the conversation.
"I suppose so. Just don't get him to wound up every night," He chuckled and Mike led him into the bedroom, closing the door. He pushed Chester onto the bed and slithered on top of him. He sat on his waist and kissed his lips softly.
"So this is where I get wound up every night?" Chester smirked and Mike laughed.
"I guess so," Mike purred and kissed his neck, making Chester moan softly.
"O-okay, Mike. Please not now though, I just moved in," Chester laughed. Mike sighed but winked, getting off of Chester. the two sat on the bed. "It's going to be so nice sharing a bed with you."
"You're telling me. I've wanted to since the moment I met you," Mike claimed and the smaller boy rolled his eyes.
"You have literally no idea," Chester exaggerated and the two walked back out in the living room, seeing Mr. Shinoda had already left. "Mike, if your brother gets pinned in jail for this, do you want me to drop charges from when he hurt me?"
"No, Ches, he needs to learn," Mike insisted and Chester decided he wouldn't bring it up again.
Both boys didn't want to talk about what happened with Jay. Chester would start to freak out too much and Mike would just become straight out angry. It was hard for both of them to get anywhere with their conversations that revolve around Jay. Neither knew exactly what to say, though both are easily roiled up from the topic. It was a sore matter that they were not quite ready to face yet. They both agreed it'd be best to keep to themselves at the moment and then when they're ready and less hurt and mad over it, they would figure out exactly what to say but by then, it might be too late. Jay's fate didn't lie with them, though it could be adjusted. They both personally decided to leave the issue to the court.
