Chapter thirteen.
Dark light...
The dark knight pack had taken off for a run in the forest, leaving the Shadowland pack wandering and waiting, looking towards their alpha as he stepped beside me. I grasped the microphone and gave it to him with the same expressionless face as before. Seeing him glance at me with admiration in his eyes. A small smile curved up on his lips before he nodded, almost as if in approvement. something in my inner demon seemed to calm down slightly at the idea of making him proud. I could imagine her grinning in her cage at the thought.
"As the dark knight are out on a run, I will continue with the pack meeting" he paused "since the killing of most of the dark knight pack, I have decided that training will be held everyday before and after school. Everyone must attend, including the pregnant and the injured. Runners will be taking double shifts to check the borders and pack warriors, protectors and weaponry teams will be working together to create a strategic plan for the pack if the pack ever gets attacked by the same rogues. I also have information on the other hunters that have been sent to help us. And they should be arriving tomorrow or the day after. Aurora will be accompanying them through training and anything else they may be doing. Any questions?" He called and the crowd remained silent. "You are dismissed then. The mourning for the pack still continues, pay your respects, any trouble makers will be kicked out of the pack, you may go" the crowd dissipated and seemed to flit through the air before the whole courtyard was completely empty. The Luna had gone to escort everyone inside when alpha shadow had walked up beside me and pressed a hand on my shoulder. I turned around swiftly, not liking what his touch did to me. Even if it was through material.
"You did well to step up for your friend" he spoke hesitantly, I nodded and pulled away.
"Thank you alpha shadow. It's good to know you appreciate my leadership skills" my tone came out thick, thick with emotion, and as I looked at him I saw a drop of hurt in his eyes.
"No formalities, I mean it, call me blade"
"Alpha shadow, that is your title, I shall call you that out of respect" he sighed before giving up and we walked in silence. "Can I ask you a question? Aurora?" I looked at him perplexed and spotted a small bench that was sat right next to a pond. I beckoned him over telling him to sit down.
"You may ask anything you wish alpha shadow" he clenched his fists before turning to me with a red glaze in his eyes. The rims seemed pour into me. Locking me with its steady gaze.
"What are your reasons for rejecting me?" He asked and I felt myself freeze "I've told you my reasons and i have explained them twice. I want to know why you reject me as well"
I tensed and looked at the calming dark light of the rippling waters. The fish seemed to swim in and out of the reeds and pond plants as they went.
"Because I have power" I muttered, snapping my head towards him, and I saw through my reflection my eyes burning a bright silver, nothing was tainted with the colour so I knew she wasn't taking over.
I rose my hand and pulled him towards me with my power. "I have power, and it's not good" I whispered so close to his ear I could practically taste it. My body and soul yearned to be with my mate. I wanted him. But I knew I couldn't and that fact cut deep inside me.
