Chapter sixteen.

"Move away from her, now!" The voice continue to growl, snapping me out of my blissful dreams and into the harsh cold reality. My black wings snapped outwards and I pushed him away, looking to where the voice came from to find Ethan standing there, his muscles bulging and shifting, he looked on the verge of shifting.

"You do not tell me what to do" alpha shadow snapped. Moving forward but I quickly accessed my powers and forced him backwards, my eyes burning orange.

"Stop, I'm fine Ethan, I just got caught in the moment" my eyes snapped to alpha shadow who was practically fighting against my power. I winced at the pain I'm that occurred in my head the more he struggled "alpha shadow, he was only protecting me. Now stop it unless you want the hunters including me to abort the mission" i hissed at him sharply. Seeing his eyes land on mine and burn into me before he took deep breaths and ran a hand through his hair.

"Aurora what were you thinking? He rejected you!" Ethan shouted, quickly making his way over to me with long strides before standing in front of me. I flinched at his words.

"We weren't doing anything we were just talking" I muttered quietly.

"Well it didn't look like it! He was practically touching you up!"

"You know that can't even happen!" I shouted at him. And he seemed to realise what he said because his eyes widened and he seemed to stutter.

"I-I didn't mean that"

"Oh really?! You thought you could just waltz in here and try to make me feel bad because my mate was talking to me?" I asked frustrated, my wings slumping to the ground as I took a deep breath. "Don't jump to conclusions"

He crossed his arms over his chest and narrowed his eyes. The gold practically glowing brightly as he tried to contain his anger.

"You were heartbroken on the phone to us. We don't want anything to happen to you" I sighed and nodded.

"It's fine" I turned to alpha shadow he stood there with a emotionless face. "Did you still want to talk?" He nodded and I waved.

"Talk"

"I'm sorry again for what you had to see, I know I keep apologising and you think it means nothing but I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I'm a bad mate for letting things with Kat run too far"

"Kat?" I said in question before laughing "so now you have nicknames for each other? Cute" I sneered and Ethan came to my side and stood close, so close we were practically touching, luckily he was wearing a long sleeve shirt.

"What did you do?" Ethan growled and alpha shadow growled back.

"None of your business, that stays between me and Aurora"

"I caught him having sex with Luna shadow and him discussing their marriage" I said to Ethan calmly, though on the inside I was breaking. My heart felt like it was burning to ashes. My lungs constricted and I felt like he had grabbed each of my organs and squeezed them with all his might.

Ethan looked at him with something like a smug smile which for some reason looked different on him, before it turned back to its impassive expression. His brooding body held stiff as I stepped forward. My wings sweeping the ground.

"Alpha shadow, I think it would be best if you kept your distance. Our bond is in the process of breaking, your not helping"

"He did the ceremony?! My mate didn't even have the guts to do that and she hated me" Ethan screamed, and I pressed a firm hand to his chest.
