Memory

They say that when you die or have a near death experience your life flashes before your eyes.
Others say that they see a light coming towards them, saying it's a sign from God telling you you're going to heaven.

I don't remember much of my childhood. Then again, I get rid of most of my memories. The good and the bad ones. It's better for me so I could forget the past

I looked at my toddler self, she was crying. I walked over to her and picked her up in my arms

"Hi little Ali," I said. She stopped crying and stared at my eyes.

I don't know why, but I could tell something was wrong with her

"Hello Alianna," A voice boomed, I looked around. There was a woman with black wings on her back

"Cool a fallen angel," I said, the woman stepped closer. Her eyes were covered by sunglasses so I couldn't see what she looked like

"Am I dead," I asked. She shook her head "No," she simply said

"Am I asleep," I asked again. She only nodded. My toddler self struggled in my arms, I put her down as she crawled to the fallen angel

She was laughing when the angel picked her up "Hi Mama," I said. I gave her a hug, it was strange. My mother's not dead, I don't understand why she's a fallen angel

"How did you know it was me," my mother said. I chuckled "I was told by everyone that when I was little I would cry, but when you came in the room I would stop," I said

"That was true," she said

"Where am I," I asked

"In your head, of course," my mom said

"I thought my mind would be more creepy," I said

"Alianna wake up, baby please wake up" the familiar male voice I love so dearly

"Is that Sawyer, you should let me meet him when you wake up" my mom stated

"I know you can't hear me, but I need you alive ok. I can't lose you, you're the first girl I actually love," he chuckled

"You know it's funny, this is the first time I actually said I love you. So I need you to wake up now," he said. I looked at my mom

"How long have I've been in my head," I asked "To you and me, it's only been a few hours. To the rest of them, it's been almost a month," she said

"Oh, I guess I have to wake up now," I said

"It's your choice, but either way I'll see you soon," my mother disappeared along with my younger self.

I opened my eyes, my vision was mainly blurry and my body was stiff. I tried lifting my hand, but it was pulled back by wires

"Listen, I'm going to check your vitals," he said. The doctor checked the I.V and everything, then backed away

"Well Ms. Path you are very lucky to be alive. You have a few broken ribs and your left arm is also broken," Dr. Smith explained looking at a clipboard

"We took out the bullet that was lodged in your chest and we did a raped kit,"

I only nodded, the doctor left as a man walked in with black roses in his hands.
