Louis's POV
Again, I couldn't sleep. I needed to find out who Steven was, and why she was in the hospital. I got out of my bed and walked to her room to hear more crying. I gathered all of my strength and lightly knocked on the door.
"Can I come in?" I asked.
Daire's POV
I heard a knock on the door and Louis ask if he can come in. I didn't really want to talk to anyone, and I was still emotionally unstable, but something inside told me I could trust him.
"Yeah, come in, Lou." I said weakly.
I heard the door open and close and I felt the bed lower beside me. I look up and see him smiling at me. Then he spoke.
"Hear me out, Daire. First of all, I want to...apologize. For anything I have ever done to hurt you or make you feel bad. I know before I hated you, but now I realize I didn't have a reason. And I don't want you to feel bad anymore." Lou paused, then slowly continued. "I was there when you were passed out in the hospital."
What.
He was there? What did he see? Did he see the scars? Did he know I cut?
"Daire, who is Steven and what did he do to you?" Louis questioned.
"I..I...don't wanna talk about it. But I do forgive you." I said.
"Please, Daire, trust me." He begged. The agony in his voice broke me, but I just wasn't ready to tell him.
"I'm sorry, just, I'm not ready to tell you yet." I let tears roll down my cheeks. "I want to tell you, but I can't. At least not yet." Lou lifted my chin up and wiped my tears.
"Okay, I'm sorry. But please know that you can trust me now. I know I hurt you before, and I feel so guilty, but I have changed. And please, don't cry." I gave him a smile so he knew I understood. Then he got up and left, shutting the door quietly behind him.
