Liam's POV
Never in my life have I met a girl as pretty, brave, athletic and stupid as Nylah Espos. Not that I've actually met her...just watched her from a distance, as long as I was allowed to. Now I just sound like a stalker but its not like that. Well maybe it is, just a bit. I was raised to be her watcher, guardian, if you will so it was my job to guard and watch.
So that was exactly what I was doing one night when I saw Nylah climb out of the window of her house. I stood from where I was perched and followed her all the way across town and into the park otherwise known as the Tremors Territory. Nylah entered with no fear and carried on walking but I stayed back abit and watched my surroundings I sent my power out as a warning to anyone around the area then turned invisible and entered the park.
I materialised in the treetops above Nylah, who had been seen by the Tremors. She said something that I missed and suddenly it was deathly quiet. Right there she goes being Stupid Nylah again, but I guess that's why she's called the Firestorm. I leant forward ready to spring and dug out her ruby that will amplify her powers and help unlock them. Before she could open her mouth to day something I jumped from the tree and threw the ruby at her. She caught it and stared at it before she crumpled to the floor. I walked up to the Tremors to see they were really trembling.
Good I thought at least they had sense. I didn't even spare them a glance as I carried Nylah to my car that I had summoned from my apartment. I opened the back door and gently lay Nylah across it. I looked at her face for a while it was so peaceful and different to the feisty girl that I had come to understand and accept as my friend, even if she didn't know me.
