Liam's POV
My mind was over crowded with thoughts about Nylah. Although she didn't know it she had used compulsion on me. I was trained to deny anyone access to my mind. All guardians had been. It was weird to have a shared mind with someone. But it also made me think. What if she knew exactly what she had done? She could be working for the enemy, even if we didn't know who that was yet.
I was stood outside the bathroom thinking all this when I heard Nylah call my name. I looked towards the door waiting for her to continue.
"Liam are you there?"
"Are you decent?"
"What do you think? I'm calling you from behind a door."
"Whatever. What exactly did you need?"
She was silent for a bit and I felt bad for snapping at her. But then again she could be working for the opposition so I kept up my wall.
"I just needed a towel man. Keep your hair on."
I walked to the guestroom and picked a towel for her then I remembered she'd need clothes and... other stuff. She looked about my mum's size. There were some of her clothes in the house in one of the rooms she stayed in. I think.
Taking the towel I walked to the bathroom and knocked on the door.
Nylah opened it a bit sticking her hand out. I placed the towel in her outstretched hand shaking my head when she tried to fit it back through the doors gap. She sighed before opening a wider gap then slamming the door."I still need to show you where the clothes are." I reminded her.
She groaned then said," fine lead the way I'll follow but don't look at me."
I started to walk away and soon I heard the pattering of her feet along the floor boards. I lead her to the last room my mother had taken residence in and waited for Nylah to walk. I made sure to look the other way as she walked past me.
I think I heard her mumble 'thank you' but I couldn't be sure so I asked her.
"Did you just thank me?"
I could almost feel the roll of her eyes.
"Think what ever you want to Sherlock."
With that she closed the door leaving me in silence.
