Nylah's POVMy eyelids felt groggy and heavy, I could feel something resonating in the air. I couldn't explain it but I knew that someone was in the room with me. I kept my eyes closed as I heard shuffling in the room around me. Everything smelled ...different. Then footsteps came closer to the bed and cold water cascaded down my face. I opened my eyes about to murder whoever did that to me.
But when I opened my eyes there was a large wolf dog panting on top of me.
I blinked and stared at it. It stared at me. When I tried to move it from on to if me it growled and I swallowed. Suddenly it started to cackle and it jumped off me. The howling cackles turned into laughs of a guy.Wait what? A guy?
My eyes widened upon realisation and I suddenly got angry. I shot out of the bed and stomped over to him. He was now standing facing me a smile on his lips and wearing only joggers. Yeah he may have had an impressive eight pack but then so did I so if he thought I was going to go weak at the knees at the sight of his, he was mistaken.
When he saw my face his smile disappeared and his eyes widened.
'Sorry?' He asked.
Right and he couldn't even apologise properly.
What a guy.
I glared at him and folded my hands over my chest.
'Why am I here, and how the hell did you turn into a wolf?' I asked.
He looked away from me and bit his lip , scratching his neck.
'You see I would tell you but I kind of can't.' He replied. ' your parents said I shouldn't.'
Wait did he say parents?
I looked at him.
'Which parents? ''Your real ones.' He replied .
I narrowed my eyes on him and he put his hands up in mock surrender.
'I wouldn't lie to you' he said. Huffing I walked out the room and I knew he was following me. I walked into the kitchen and sat at the table. This guys' house was huge and amazing it had some great views too. I motioned for the chair on one side of the table and I sat on the other.
'Ok , what's your name?' I asked.
He seemed surprised by my question. 'Erm... So you don't want to know about the monsters yesterday?' He asked.
I looked at him weirdly.
Monsters? What monsters?
'Wait you don't remember?' He asked. When I shook my head he muttered under his breath. Then explained to me what happened yesterday. I looked at my hand and saw the gem he was talking about. But it wasn't a gem it was like a tattoo of the gem with a pheonix and fire erupting around it. I stared at it , it was beautiful.
Then i looked at he guy, who was staring at me. I looked away then said,'you still haven't told me your name.'
He cocked his head to the side and looked at me like he was trying to solve a puzzle.
'Liam' he said. I was about to tell him my name when he cut me off. 'I know you're Nylah.'
I looked at him dryly. Of course he knew my name.
'So you can shift into any animal?' I drawled.
Liam nodded then got up and went to the toaster to make something. I stared at his back as his muscles worked. He was lean and muscly, wide at his shoulders and narrow at his hips.
Ugh he really needs to put a shirt on.
'What don't you like this?' Liam smirked turning to see me ogling his chest. I stood up and tied my shirt up so that my stomach showed and replied.
'Hardly, I was just comparing.'
And I smiled to my self as I felt his gaze checking me out.
That's one to Nylah.
