Nylah's POV
Liam slammed the brakes of the car and I hardly managed to stay rooted in my seat.
"Woah! What was that for." I snapped.
Liam looked at me sharply, "Are you okay?"
I nodded rolling my eyes.
"Then why are you complaining?"
I just stared at him, my eyes wide.
Um attitude much.
I crossed my arms against my chest and stubbornly stared out the window. An utter carnage glared right back at me. I placed my hands on the window and just watched the billowing flames being wept up by the wind. Hastily I opened the door when I saw Liam running towards the wreckage.
As soon as I reached him I noticed Lianne and a guy lying unconscious near the flames that were quickly streaking towards them. I looked at Liam motioning for him to follow me towards them. But he was just standing there motionless. I slowly realised he was going into shock. Furrowing my eyebrows I ran towards the guy who was the closest to the fire. I vaguely remember Liam telling me that I could commandeer fire and summon it. Closing my eyes I imagined the fire disappearing and stood akimbo concentrating on the thought. After a few seconds I felt a tingling sensation coursing up through my veins. Knowing it was the fire I squeezed my eyes shut tighter welcoming the warmth.
In the far distance the crackle of the fire was beginning to decrease and the power I felt inside began to overwhelm me. There was still power travelling towards me. I opened my eyes and saw that there was a fire whirlwind barrelling its way to me. My eyes widened. I didn't know how to stop it.
"Liam..." I whispered.
Cold hands were placed on my face before I blacked out.
