Chapter 6
Sebastian’s eyes widened. “I’ve heard rumors about the family but I never thought it actually existed.” He said bewildered. Rebecca shrugged. “People like to think of the Wildew family as myth and we’d like to keep it that way.” “Could you enlighten me more? There are some parts I don’t quite get it.” Rebecca nodded. “Here’s what my dad told me: Long ago, our ancestors had done a great deed of ridding a monster that has plagued their town for years and years. Dad said that it was rather frightening. It was gigantic and had three eyes and no nose or mouth. The original witches were pleased to death and asked what our ancestors wanted in return. They didn’t need anything, so the witches cast an everlasting spell on them. Every being in line to the family was to be granted with a supernatural power. So, when our ancestors started procreating, each child was something paranormal. Some were mermaids, some were half-dragons. But now, I am the witch, my sister is the vampire and Tyler is the werewolf. I don’t know what our relatives are like, though. Dad never told me what he or mom was. Though, I don’t think any one of us is a demon in our family.” She explained. “Wait, I don’t get something. How long have you and your siblings been on earth?” Rebecca frowned. “My sister is 160 years so I think I should be about 155. Witches aren’t meant to be immortal but since I have a little vampire blood running through my veins, I live continuously.” Rebecca ended. “Are you guys the only ones here?” Rebecca shook her head. “As far as I know, Chris is here. Chris Vaster is a vampire and a really big jerk.” “But Rebecca, your last name is Rivers. Or is it a pseudonym?” Rebecca smiled. “Of course it is. I cant just exactly tell someone, ‘Hey, I’m Rebecca Wildew!’ Incase they know. So it’s safer with a false name.” Sebastian paced up and down, his mind in rigid thoughts. “What’s wrong?” Rebecca asked looking worried. Sebastian wondered if he ought to tell her. “There’s a group…” he began. “It’s called the Order of Doom.” Rebecca wondered how the information concerned her. “I heard about it back in the shadow world. It’s a secret group of extraordinary people.” Rebecca was still confused. “I think they all want you dead.” Sebastian said inexplicably. Rebecca stared at him. “Excuse me?” “Rebecca, legend has it that this group had bad blood with the Wildew ancestors. They were outraged when the family was granted with all supernatural beings. They regarded it as illegal and unjust. So, they decided to hunt down every one in the family.” Rebecca closed her eyes and laid her head and Sebastian became worried that he had loaded her with too much. “You should probably go home and rest. I’ll walk you home.” Ten minutes later they arrived at the doorstep to Rebecca’s home. “Uh…Rebecca, I’d really like to speak with your sister, you know, get to know her more.” Rebecca nodded, she felt a bit light headed. “Yeah, tomorrow after school’s fine.” Sebastian looked at her and sighed. “Well, good night. Sleep tight.” He kissed her on the forehead and as she turned the doorknob, he was gone.
“You what?!” Natasha snarled at her sister. It was eleven in the morning and she just told Natasha the events of the previous night. “Tasha, it’s okay.” “Hell, it’s not! You told him all about our family? What if he goes spilling it to everyone?!” Rebecca looked tired. “Tasha, he’s not like that. Plus, he told me his little secret and I told him mine.” “You could have at least told me about it.” She said. “Demon, uh? You believe that crap?” Rebecca gave Natasha a nasty look. “Well, I don’t know. If I was prolly human, would I have believed vampires and werewolves existed? Or cohabited?” Natasha said nothing. “Fine, whatever. But I’m not talking to him alone. You got me into it; you’ll be with me till the end of it.” Rebecca tilted her blond head. “Are you shy? Scared?” Natasha raised a brow. “If you weren’t my little sister, I’d have kicked the bazookas outta you.” Rebecca smirked. “Ty isn’t even worked up about this. I don’t know why you are.” Rebecca spoke again. “You think Tyler is the smartest thing ever?” “I heard you!” Tyler spoke behind their backs. He looked at Natasha. “Someone’s in a pissy mood.” Natasha glared at him. “Well, I think I’m better at least I wasn’t the one fighting with a demon on a full moon!” Natasha shot back and went upstairs to her room. Tyler watched her go. “Ah, what a sweet little girl.” He said mockingly and Rebecca laughed.
