| Grayson's POV |

Today is December 15th. My 16th birthday is tomorrow.

I patted Ethan's back, "you ready for that drivers test tomorrow?"

"Is that a question? I want my license so bad!"

-

The day had come and Ethan and I both passed. I wanted to surprise Alexandra.

I went to the dealership and rented a pick up truck just for the day. I picked a red pick up with the biggest trunk.

I brought it home and filled it with blankets, pillows, and a picnic basket.

Grayson: come outside

Alex: hmmm...ok

Alex walked out her front door, "you passed??!"

"Did you doubt I would?" I said with laughter.

Alex ran up and wrapped herself around me. "I am so proud of you! Is this your car?"

"No, I rented this specific car just for us today. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Hop in!"

Alex hopped in the passenger seat and looked at me in curiosity, "so where is it we are going?"

"I was going to let you decide..."

"Well how about we get something to eat I'm a bit hungry."

"Shakes it is, our favorite."

I took us to a drive through and got both of us a large shake. Then I thought of one of the most romantic places I know.

"Put your chair all the way back, and close your eyes. I want to totally surprise you."

"Hmmm... Luckily I trust you." She giggled.

I put my right hand on her thigh to remind her I was there to protect her. As we approached the destination I told her to sit up and look around.

We were at the top of a hill that over looked a river and the bright sunset.

"Wow, you know your hotspots huh Gray?"

"Of course. The surprise isn't over, come here."

I lifted off the trunk lid to reveal the blankets, pillows, and food. As I opened the picnic basket I pulled out the candles and lit them around us.

I got in the trunk and lifted Alex over the side to come join me.

"You are so smooth you know that?"

"So I've been told. I love you."

"I love you too."

We lied there and talked all night until the bright stars were above us. (Anyone else think of that one episode of Hannah Montana?)

Alexandra was perfect. We felt the same way about each other and knew exactly what the other was thinking. She was the missing piece to my life puzzle.
