"I don't want tea," said Clary, with muffled force. "I want to find my mother. And then I want to find out who took her in the first place, and I want to kill them."
"Unfortunately," said Hodge, "we're all out of bitter revenge at the moment, so it's either tea or nothing."

The waterfall was a beautiful blood red that poured white noise to their tea party, splattering the table legs and cloth. Laughter spilling from Ayumi's lips as she twirled around the table, drinking from teacups of all colors. Some even had nothing at all.

Others bore lipstick marks that she, in distaste, threw away. The sound of shattering cups as she flirted and pranced with the mice and the Hatter around the table.

Pulling her gently by the arm - away, he whispered, "But you can't stay."

In her most frivolous tone, she asked, "Why not?" as she brushed a hair from her face.

"Because you  need to see the Queen."

Twirling away from his hold, she opened her arms to the sky, "Then I will. I'm Alice after all. And the world is mine to explore."

Pressing her lips to his cheek, she whispered, "And I won't let anyone get in my way."

His eyes danced, "Very good, my lady."

She smiled as the sound of their squeaking shoes on the rocks filled the air.
