Adele's POV

Rider slowly set me down and I immediately turned around to face the stranger.

"Roland?" I asked, my eyes wide and my mouth ajar.

Roland had gone missing when I was 7. He was my favorite cousin.

"But...how?" I asked. "You were declared dead after five months of searching..."

Roland's face scrunched up in confusion and he said the three words that made tears sprinkle my eyes.

"Who are you?"

The little boy I once knew, looked up to, and considered a brother...didn't even know who I was.

"Adele...remember? You beat up my bullies...you kissed my scrapes...you made me smile in the darkest of times...you don't remember?" I asked.

His eyebrow lifted. "Your a werewolf, why would I ever be friends with you?"

"Were you a vampire all your life? Born one? No! You want to know how I know? It's because I spent 3/4 of my childhood with you! You were human!" I paused..."who changed you?"

The question just sort of slipped out and I frowned at it. Why would anyone change a lively human boy?

"He almost died. I did him a favor, I gave him another chance to live, eternal life." A voice sounded from my right.

"Rihanna? What are you doing here?" Roland questioned the recent addition to the conversation.

She ignored him. "I gave him a future."

I narrowed my eyes. "In exchange of his past." I stated, not even needing to ask.

"Yep." She said, popping the 'p'.

"Hey, let's go." Rider said, grabbing my arm.

I nodded weakly and said my last goodbye to Roland.

Two hours later
~~

Rider had left a little while ago after scolding me about talking to strangers.

'Roland wasn't always a stranger...' My inner voice tells me sadly.

I smiled and shrugged. "Why live in the past? So what, he's a different person. Our feelings won't change. He grew up, and guess what? So did I." I said aloud.

I received a couple of weird looks from strangers walking by and stuck my middle finger up at them.

Standing up, I stretched a little before heading back to my apartment.

I looked around for April but couldn't find her, instead I found a note.

' Rider told me what happened. I'll forgive you for pulling your stupid prank, only because I'm nice like that.

P.S. Actually I'm going on a date with my mate so I obviously don't have the time to prank you back. Nor am I in the 'payback' mood.

Love,
April '

I sighed happily. I was afraid of what she'd pull, guess I don't have to be.

Having nothing else to do, I decide to play with Amor.

"Amor?!" I yelled his name, yet he still didn't come.

~~
1 hour later
~~
I've looked everywhere and still couldn't find Amor.

I picked up my phone and called Mira.

"Ello?" Mira's voice sounded from the other side.

"Amor's missing!" I yelled into the phone.

"I'll be right over," she said, already hopping down the hallway towards my door.

"Son of a bitch!" I yelled when I stubbed my toe and cut my finger on the knife hanging from the kitchen table.

"Shit,shit,shittitty-shit." I sang, putting a Minnie Mouse band-aid on my pointing finger, at the tip where the knife pierced the skin.

Mira knocked on the door and I opened it. "Where the hell have you been?" I asked her.

She rolled her eyes. "I had to take a piss." She answered. "Where's April?"

"Date," I answered, not even looking up at her.

"Why don't you just give him a week? He'll come around," Mira said.

"A week?!" I exclaimed," we're leaving tomorrow!"

"It's okay...he'll show up," she said, though I could hear the uncertainty in her voice.
~~
The next day
~~

"Wake up Adele!" April exclaimed," you only have three hours to pack!"

I sit up in my bed and look over to the alarm clock.

"What the hell April, it's only 2!" I yelled at her.

She raised her left eyebrow. "Yeah, 2 p.m., we leave at 5 dumbass ."

Eventually I crawled out of bed and towards the bathroom for a bath.

After two hours of packing

"Adele are you ready yet?" Rider yelled from the other side of the door.

"No!" I yelled back.

"Oh, okay. Cool. Let's go." He said, opening the door.

He grabbed my suitcases and lifted them up into his sports car.

Slowly, I got into the front seat and stared out the window.

As we drove off, I looked behind me one more time.
