Scene 11 - and i prefer to call him nips behind his back. Harry's house. 10:20am. Santa Cruz, California.

"Good morning!" Shane yells into my ear. I hear a few bangs of pots and pans as well.

A sharp ache rings through my head as I cover my ears to guard myself from his evil quest to use my hangover against me.

"Stop." I groan, placing the pillow around both of my ears.

Shane stops and rips the pillow from my hands, removing the blanket soon after.

The freezing air takes the place of my warm cover. "Shane." I groan again.

"You've got to get up, Lewis." He says in a sweet tone.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because. It's a new day my friend. Me and my friends, we're a bunch of go getters. You've got to learn to be one too. It starts today." Shane explains, tapping my exposed stomach.

"What starts today?" I sit up and try to look at him, although my eyes are squinting. They're not used to the light yet.

"Your go getter training?" He says like I should've known already.

I don't answer, instead I sit up and begin to slip my pants on. I figure I'll need to get up anyway. And I know Shane won't stop bothering me until I do.

"Yay!" He celebrates my awakening.

"Where are we?" I ask as I slide my shirt on. This isn't the house we moved into yesterday. This looks like an apartment. It's nice, but messy. There are posters everywhere and clothes cover the floor.

It looks like I'm in a bedroom. But who's?

"Harry's apartment." Shane answers.

I slide my black Vans on and sit beside Shane on the bed. "Oh." I wonder why he has his own place. Probably fought with his parents too much, knowing him.

"You seem to like Curly." He nudged me lightly with a smile.

"Nope." I smile. "And I prefer to call him Nips behind his back."

"Funny." Shane smiles. There's a minute of silence. It's not uncomfortable though. It's just nice to sit here alone with him. We haven't been alone together since we ate dinner last night. "You know you're doing well, right?"

"Am I?" I look at him. I genuinely had no idea what everyone thought of me. I hoped they liked me, of course but maybe they were being polite for Shane's sake.

"Yup. They all really like you. They're downstairs right now and all they're talking about is you." Shane smiles.

"Really?" I smile again. The only question on my mind is, 'even Harry?" As much as I wouldn't want to admit it.

"Even Harry." Shane nods, somehow reading my mind. "By the way, jumping off of the lighthouse really meant a lot to them. Especially Harry." He winks.

I smile harder and Shane gets up. "Let's go, lover boy."

"Alright." I follow him outside of the bedroom and into the kitchen.

"What was with you getting all hot and bothered with him last night?" I hear Aaron tease someone.

Shane stops me and giggles. No one can see us, we're still on the staircase but we can hear everything they're saying.

"Nothing." Harry speaks briefly. Everyone laughs and I can imagine his red cheeks and his eyes toward the floor, his cherry lips almost in a pout but not quite because he wouldn't dare let anyone see him like that.
