Scene 9 - that was hot, chlammy. Santa Cruz streets. 1:57 am. Santa Cruz. California.

"Would you mind taking me home?" Jade speaks up as we cruise.

"Of course not." Harry replies. "Just got to tell everyone else."

Harry pulls up to a gas station pretty close to where we were at the lighthouse, and because Shane was supposed to be following us, he stops too.

Harry gets out. "Stay here." He commands to Jade and I.

I don't try to glance at her or make her feel uncomfortable. She doesn't seem like the type to want to talk about things. I can't save her from herself. It's impossible, and frankly, I don't feel the urge to anyway. All I can do is try to be there for her.

I accidentally kick something and find its an unopened bottle of vodka. Nothing could be better right now.

Shane and Harry speak about something. I'm not sure at all what it is, it can't be just about the Jade thing because it's taking much longer. I'm not supposed to know, anyway. They've all definitely informed me that I'm the confused little boy for tonight.

I take a few sips of the alcohol.

I can't help but think about Harry and I in the water. Was he, by any chance, even a little bit attracted to me?

Don't give yourself hope, Lou. He's obviously straight. I need to learn not to allow myself to feel so many emotions. To close myself off.

I want to become cold. I don't like being hurt.

But why was I thinking about him as I was possibly falling to my death? I barely know him. We met today.

Damn, he's extraordinary. He makes me feel extraordinary. He makes me feel invincible. The only reason I jumped off of the roof was because he was there. He was there and he was ready to jump with me and that's all I needed to give myself a push.

Louis, you don't know him.

I feel like such a stupid school girl. I need to end this stupid crush as soon as possible.

"You okay?" Jade speaks up.

"Yeah." I almost whisper. I'm still deep in thought, but Harry's walking towards the car again and I need to get my cool back.

I take more sips of the alcohol as he drives. It's starting to hit me. I've drank almost half. I don't even know how, the burning has been soothing me through my awful train of thought.

It doesn't take long for us to arrive at Jade's house. It was pretty close to the gas station. She must've been waiting for the closest area we drove through to ask. She's very thoughtful.

She exits the car and we're on our way to an unknown destination again.

"I see you've found my personal bottle of vodka, I personally bought for my personal self." Harry speaks after a few minutes of silence.

"Oh, I, um-" I start to apologize.

"I'm kidding. I'm driving anyway." He chuckles.

I take another sip- gulp, of the alcohol. "Okay."

"How do feel about Shane's friends?" He asks, weirdly worded.
