Jace led us to a small room near the back of the Institute. If you were like me or Dean you would be too busy looking every where else to see the room itself, the hallway walls were covered in paintings and old photos. Display shelves high up holding some unique pieces of art, many small sculptures of Idris and even some nails or teeth from demons.
As we entered the room everyone moved around one another around the large table as if it was a sort of a dance. The table showed a map of New York and had red, green, and gray dots all over Central Park and some unknown locations, I looked curiously trying to figure out what they all represented. Once I looked up I watched Isabelle and Simon move with each other in synced movements, front and back, side by side, allowing the others to move around to their spots. Alec took the far left and Jace took the other corner. As Jace moved I was able to see the parabatai rune on his right bicep-- I unconsciously turned to look at Dean-- my brother, my parabatai. He was looking around at everyone too, his eyes squinted a bit as he analyzed the movements in between everyone also. I turned back to watch Clary grab markers and chess pieces-- as she turned around she saw me and smiled.
"Don't be shy you two, come in." She dropped the pieces and markers onto the table and took position next to Isabelle.
"Yes, please. I would love to see if the sons of John have any strategies or tactics for us." Maryse objected, her words were so clean and sharp I could feel them cut into me. I forced a smile upon my face and looked at Dean-- his smile was very real and very sincere. He eagerly walked into the room and stood next to Maryse.
"So what are we looking at here?" Dean crosses his arms together and stands up tall.
I slowly make my way towards the other end of the table in between Simon and Jace-- Jace doesn't bother to look over but Simon gives me a nod of his head.
"The red is the Demon hordes we are aware of, the green is main priority, and the gray is the hordes we have taken out." She picks up a chess piece and moves it to a green area, "We are the chess pieces-- we place ourselves here and create our strategies."
Dean nods his head, our father taught us strategy and even his favorites he has came up with. Dean listened-- I did not. "Why is green priority?" He asks.
"They are too close to civilian life-- or too close to something they know they aren't supposed to be next to. Secret portals, holy land-- things like that-- things that can get us into some serious trouble."
"Okay, well we will continue with those then," Dean picked up a chess piece as I saw Jace's hand fidget. "Where should we start?"
"Here." Jace finally interjected. He points to a spot that is the nearest the the institute, "They are inching their way closer and closer to us and we can't risk them trying to take down our glamour. They won't be able to get in, but they still show as a threat when we try to get out."
"Alright," Dean places a chess piece in front of the institute. "So we want them as far as possible, so we hit them from behind." Jace twitches. "Knowing demons there are probably only a few who are getting cocky enough to get this close to the Institute. Sam and I are good at diversions, we draw them out to spots we need to be-- that's how we get most of our hunts done. Sam will go and create some sort of havoc, causing the demons to attack or chase after him." Dean places a few more chess pieces a street over from where their location, "Here we will have Clary, Simon and I waiting-- we will take out the ones who chose to follow Sam."
Simon shrugs his shoulders, "Dark alleys are cool with me."
Dean places some more, "Over here Jace, Alec, Maryse, and Isabelle will be waiting and hiding until Sam takes off and some follow. You will take on the rest."
