The next day I wake up to a loud banging on my door, "Sam, we're needed down in the kitchen." Dean said, his voice deep and groggy from waking up.
I groan and get up slowly to look at the clock, eight-thirty. Not too bad, but not my favorite time in the world. I change into my day apparel and make my way downstairs into the unknown. As I am walking towards the kitchen I can smell the distinct scent of bacon. The vision of this group of people eating breakfast together is blurred. Who knows how they all act with one another. From the stories I hear they seem to be close, but no one knows how it is behind closed doors.
All my worries went away as I walk through the door frame to witness Clary Herondale laughing with a giant smile upon her face. A spatula tight in one hand and the other cupping the back of Jace Herondale's head-- Jace having both of his hands wrapped tightly around her waist and his face smiling and nuzzling into the side of her neck.
I smiled and turned my head to where the corner table was at to see Simon Lewis and Isabelle Lightwood leaning against one another, smiles plastered on their faces.
Alec Lightwood sees me first and gives a kind smile, "Good morning Sam, fan of bacon and pancakes?"
Everyone in the kitchen looks up to see me and gives a loud in-sync, "Good morning!"
I smile, "Good morning, and yes-- that sounds good, thank you."
Dean walks in behind me, "Okay Cas," pause, "Alright-- yes I am safe." pause, "Love you too, good bye." He clicks the phone and puts it in his pocket, "Sorry guys, boyfriend duties."
Alec's eyes widen, "You're gay?"
Dean halts in place and turns red while Jace begins to laugh, "Looks like you're not the only one with gay charm Alec."
"It's always the cute ones..." Isabelle mumbles.
Dean finally let out a nervous laugh and speaks, "Well, I don't know about gay--"
"Right, sorry," Alec laughs, "It's hard to find other Shadowhunters in relationships with the same sex. Is he a Shadowhunter?"
"Yes, his name is Castiel Novak." Dean blushes, "A friend of the family--"
"He successfully got out of the friend zone?" Interrupted Simon, a fake look of surprise on his face-- directed at Clary. She rolls her eyes and scoffs. Interesting.
"I guess you can say that." Dean walks over to a chair and sits down. I follow him and sit beside him.
Jace walks over with a large plate of pancakes in one hand and bacon in the other, "So we know now that Dean is in a relationship-- what about you Sam?"
I look up from the plate surprised, "Me? Oh," I laugh nervously, "No-- not that I know of."
Jace laughs, "No one lucky enough to snatch you?"
I smile and grab a pancake, the image of a girl with blonde hair and a radiant smile flies through my mind, "No--"
"No one can handle his hair." Says Dean, everyone laughs-- including me. After a few moments everyone sits beside one another and begins to eat when Dean asks:
"Where's Maryse?"
"She's not around very often," says Isabelle, "She comes about once a week to check on things and then she goes back to Idris."
My eyebrows furrow, "So she won't be fighting with us?"
"No," Alec says, "She usually doesn't, it's just us."
Just them? I look at Dean to see him mimicking my own expression of confusion, only five of them have been taking down all of these demon hoards?
