Kat's P.O.V.
A few months later
School had started and Ryley, Andy, and I all were in first grade. We were in the same class too.
"What is one important thing you all have learned so far about life?" The teacher wrote up on the board.
We were allowed to write it on paper and then we had to talk about it in front of the class.
Andy went first, then Ryley, and lastly me.
I walked up to the front of the class with my paper.
"What I've learned about life is that a lot is hard. If it's hard that means that it's probably worth going through the hard stuff. People can be mean and they'll get sad. But that makes us feel good about the happy times and when they come we need to be happy for them," I read off my paper I wrote.
Our teacher smiled widely at me and I got an A.
Paul gave Ryley and I rides home. I ran to Vince and let him read my paper.
"What do you think, daddy Vinny?" I smiled.
"I love it. It's very true, kitty Kat," he kissed my cheek.
Later Katharine, Vince, and I were snuggling under a blanket on the couch. Nikki and Tommy walked in and sat next to Vince.
"Hi, uncle Nikki," I giggled, crawling into his lap.
"Hey, kiddo. How was your first day?" He kissed my forehead.
"It was good," I smiled, snuggling into him.
"Just good?" He turned me so I was facing him.
"I got an A on a paper," I smiled.
"Teachers giving homework on the first day. It's not right," Tommy playfully rolled his eyes.
"You're silly, uncle Tommy," I kissed his cheek.
"You made me that way," he started tickling me.
I was squeaking loudly as Mick walked in. He looked over and laughed.
"What do you say we go to the beach and your favorite restaurant on Saturday? Ryley and Andy can come," Mick knelt beside me, smiling.
"Can we?" My eyes lit up and I looked at Vince and Katharine.
"Of course we can, love," Katharine smiled.
"I'm okay with it," Vince pulled me back into his lap.
"Yay!" I smiled excitedly.
Saturday came and Mick picked up Ryley and Andy. We went to the beach and Vince took each of us one by one surfing. The three of us kids got into a sand fight and Katharine took us to the bathroom to clean out our swim suits.
We stayed until sunset that night and the boys got to stay the night. Before that we went out to a Chinese restaurant.
That night we made a huge blanket fort and everyone slept in it.
"Daddy Vinny?" I looked over at him the next morning.
"Yes, baby?" He pulled me into his arms and held me close.
"I love you all of you so much," I mumbled sleepily.
"You know we all live you too, kitty kat," he smiled, kissing my forehead.
I smiled widely and fell back asleep cuddled tightly into him.
