"Okay." Aunt Pia, who was standing in the middle of the room, threw her hands in the air with a tight smile on her face. "This will be your new room, Fel."
I stepped inside the room, roaming my eyes around in the process. The walls are white. At the left side in the corner is a singe bed, beside it is a window that has a seat attached below. Then there's a study desk and a dresser at the right side of the room. It is actually a very nice room. It wasn't small but it wasn't also that huge. And I like it.
I looked at Aunt Pia who seemed to be anticipating for my reaction. I gave her a nod.
"This room's lovely, Aunt Pia."
She sighed in relief and genuinely smiled at me. "I'm glad to hear that, Fel."
I nod again to show her understanding this time. Aunt Pia's actually a really nice person. It had only been a week since I met Aunt Pia. And during those days, she never dropped her gentle and happy attitude around me. But that still wasn't enough to make me act comfortable around her, neither with her family.
"Very well then, I'll leave you alone now so you can start unpacking your things." She told me, walking towards the door and passing by me in the process.
I sighed and moved to get to the bed. But before I could do so, I heared someone clear their throat behind me. I turned around and saw that Aunt Pia is still here in the room, standing near the door. She was looking at me with a sad face.
"Felicity," she said in grieve. "I know it's been hard for you these past few days. But I just want you to know that we're still here for you. Stay strong, dear." She said, her voice cracking a bit. She must've been hurting too right now. I mean, mother's her sister.
I looked at her and tried to take her words in a positive way. Then I nod. With that, she showed me a warm smile before walking outside anf closing the door.
Actually, I don't seem to find this whole thing that painful. I mean, my parents died in a plane crash few days ago. Sure, it hurt indeed. But not to the point where I'd want to kill myself just because I can't live without them.
When they were still alive, they were always out of the country because of their professions. They didn't had a time to bond with me. And to be honest, I even came to the point where I loathed them.
It felt just the same as before. Living without seeing or feeling my parents' presences. Only that, unlike before where I can meet them twice or even the longest of thrice a month, now I won't be meeting them. Forever.
Furthermore, from this day onwards, I will be in the custody of my Aunt.
