"Do I look pretty?" Eunice asked me. Her face, flushing.

"Yeah." I answered. She was indeed pretty. Eunice has blonde hair that really went well with her pair of baby blue eyes and fair skin. Her make up even helped in enhancing that natural beauty of hers.

"Shut up! I know what you're thinking. You probably think you look prettier than me, to which I agree- so don't go spitting lies on my face!" Eunice mumbled.

I could only frown. I, what?

"Girls, Eugene is already outside. Aren't you two ready yet?" Aunt Pia asked us when she poked her head inside the living room.

"We're done mom. We're just about to walk outside until you came in. You know me, I can really be a bit off. And what I mean by off is off like oops." She giggled, making her look quite silly.

"Eunice, honey." Aunt Pia softly called, noticing her daughter's unusual manner. "Relax. Try breathing in and out."

Eunice looks at her mother for awhile, then she nods before actually following her mother's instruction. She breathed in and out repeatedly until she have finally calmed herself down.

Um. Er. Okay.

"Okay. That is so not cool." Eunice said. "He just makes me.. ugh!"

"I understand, don't worry." Aunt Pia stated. "Anyway, I'm going back to the kitchen. Enjoy you kids!"

After that, Aunt Pia took off and went to the kitchen area. Eunice, on the other hand, grabbed my hand

"Let's go. Don't get nervous on me now." She warned me. Honestly saying, why would  I get nervous? Besides, she's the one whose hands are shaking and clammy here. I think she likes that Eugene guy. Or maybe she's her boyfriend.

I shut my mouth. I'm afraid that if I say even just a word, she'll make a reply of speech. Just by thinking of it already drains out my energy.

Then, next thing I knew, we're already stepping outside the house. I immediately saw a car parked at the side when we got outside. My eyes caught a form of a boy, standing at the side of the driver's seat and is looking at us. He smiled.

"Eugene!" Eunice shouted as she lets go of my hand and runs towards the guy she called Eugene. "Did we made you wait long?" I heard Eunice asked even with a distance. It wasn't hard hearing her even from afar. As what I said, she talks loud.

I quitely walked towards them. Feeling out of place in the process.

"No, I just got here." Eugene replied. Opposite of Eunice, he looked very composed and well mannered. He's tall, has dirty blond hair and well built body. His eyes are green. I say he looks good.

"I'm glad you are. I thought I'm being a burden again." Eunice giggled.

"Silly, you've never been a burden." He seriously told her before he ruffled the top of her hair.

They looked like a couple. Well, they do look good together.

"Um," Eugene's eyes suddenly landed on me and he smiled. "Was she that girl you told me about?" He asked Eunice but still looking at me.

"Ah! Yes! She's Alissa, my cousin." Eunice told him cheerfully. "And, uh, Aliss, he's Eugene, my bestfriend."

Bestfriend?

I nod at Eugene. "Hello." I told him.

"Well, hello to you too, Alissa." He flashed me a toothy grin. Ugh. Another happy person. Eunice and him do really match each other. I mean, they somehow have the same aura around them. What a waste though that they're just bestfriends.

"You didn't tell me your cousin's a chick, Eunice." Eugene said, catching me off guard. Is he referring to me?

I looked at Eunice and I can see that she's not happy with what Eugene had said. She smacked him on his arm, making Eugene shout in pain.

"Such a tomboy you are." Eugene hissed as he rubbed his sore arm.

"And you! You're a player as ever!"

With that, Eunice grabbed my hand and made us seat at the backseat of the car. I did not miss the sound of Eugene's chuckle.
