Evie had awoken to a completely empty room the next morning, still confused and distraught over what had happened yesterday.

She decided to send a big Fuck You to Harry and went over to sit on the window seat again. The view in the morning light was no less breathtaking than it had been yesterday afternoon, and Evie found herself with her face practically shoved up against the glass.

Morning dew glistened over the flora and foliage, giving everything a magical sparkle. Actually, Evie wouldn't doubt that it really was magical. Just yesterday, she had learned that some people on Earth had wings and were immortal. Nothing would surprise her, at this point.

She heard the door open rather loudly and she turned around quickly. It was Niall. Relief sunk through her body, relief that it hadn't been Harry again. Niall was nice. Harry wasn't.

The blond man noticed that Evie was sitting at the window. "It's beautiful, innit? The view," he smiled warmly at her.

"Yeah. It is." Evie glanced back to the outside world before turning her attention back to Niall. "Aren't you going to say something about how I shouldn't have gotten out of bed?" she asked curiously.

"No, why would I? You're resting on the window seat, same as you would rest in bed." Finally, at least one person agreed with her.

"That's not what Harry seemed to think," Evie grumbled under her breath. She wasn't sure Niall had heard it, but if he did then he didn't say anything. Just then, Evie noticed that he held a covered tray in his arms. "What's that?" she asked, looking down at the tray.

Her question seemed to have reminded Niall of the presence of the tray, because he looked a little surprised. "Oh! It's your breakfast, my dear Evie." He brought it closer to her. "It was going to be a breakfast in bed type thing, but you can eat here too."

Evie smiled as he set it down gently on her lap and dramatically lifted the cover. Evie could feel her mouth watering. The breakfast consisted of fluffy strawberry pancakes with a side of maple syrup, some fruit salad, and a glass of orange juice. There were a fork and knife on the tray, also, and Evie picked the utensils up immediately and dug right in.

"Mmmm, thank you Niall," she mumbled through a big bite of pancake. Okay, she didn't have the best manners, but when you haven't eaten for a long time you tend to get a bit ravenous.

That reminded her. How long had she been here? It was a Saturday when she was taken, but she didn't know how long she'd been asleep when she had been drugged (both times).

Evie swallowed her huge bite and looked up at Niall, who was staring at her amusedly. "What day is it today?" she asked before picking up her glass of OJ.

"Tuesday," Niall answered immediately

Evie choked a bit on the orange juice she'd been drinking. She coughed a few times while Niall patted her back not-so-helpfully.

"It's Tuesday?" she asked incredulously. "But I've only been awake two times since Saturday morning. And one of those times was for like five minutes!"

Niall sat down on the other end of the window seat. It was rather spacious, so there was room for the both of them to fit comfortably.

"When you first awoke, it was early Monday morning. Harry spent the rest of Saturday and most of Sunday flying, and the flight took a lot out of you, so you only woke up when it was 2 or 3 AM, I can't remember exactly." The Irishman scratched at his temple. "You slept for a long time after that because of what I gave you, so it was mid afternoon yesterday when you were awake last."

Evie shook her head unbelievingly while still tucking in to her pancakes and fruit. "All of that nonsense could have been avoided if Harry had never taken me from my mom."
