Welcome to my last update of the year. I attempted to leave you with a cliffhanger, so we'll see what happens in the future. This is mostly a roll chapter but the ending ties into the main story.

Chapter 12: Kiss Me Goodbye
Jake
When mom and dad returned from their mission, I didn't even bother asking what happened. If it went successful, they would tell us anyway, gloating about their victorious adventure. If it went horribly, they wouldn't say a thing, and get irrationally mad at us for bringing it up. But this time mom made us dinner, which is something she never does. Who knows what could have happened on that trip but I wasn't too ambitious to find out.
"So, how was Chicago?" Raven asked, breaking the silence at the table. Both mom and dad looked up from their spaghetti and stared at each other. Raven held her breath preparing for whatever wrath they would double team her with.
"Ehh... Nothing special," dad said nonchalantly.
"Okay, I'm getting mixed messages. Did it go great? Did something bad happen?" I asked out of frustration.
"It went..... Sideways," mom said as if she was hiding something. "Steamed vegetables?"
My god, this must be serious...
"I put butter on them."
"Cut the crap mom! Tell us what happened," Raven interjected. My parents took a long look at each other before speaking.
"There was this guy. Unlike anything we've faced before," dad started.
David Strong (Finn's dad)
"So I've tracked down one of Cruz's customers to this house in the north side," Liz informed me. She always had a way of getting information that was beyond my comprehension, but it sure did turn me on. "That's gross, babe. We have a mission to do." After 20 years, you would think I would have been used to her mind reading.
"Maybe you were meant to hear that," I defended. She gave me dry look and handed me the tablet. It showed a map, and a marker of this guy's address.
"I'll go rev up the invisible jet, and we can head out in five." I don't understand why she was so invested in that thing. She rarely uses it and that's entirely due to the fact that she always loses it.
"Do you remember where you parked it?" I bet my life I know exactly what the answer is. You don't need to be a mind reader to know that she was seriously contemplating where she had left it.
"Shit. I'll call an uber."

Once we got to this guy's place, we decided to take a peaceful approach, and only use force of necessary.
"I decided, we should approach peacefully," she remarked.
"Get out of my monologues!"
When we reached the door, Liz reached out to ring the doorbell. Like lightning, something shot buy, barely missing her hand, and hitting a nearby wall. "I told I don't want your girl scout cookies!" a strange man screamed from behind the bushes.
"We're not girl scouts. We're Elizabeth and David Strong from the LGBT and we need to ask you some questions," Liz said with a sexy commanding tone. Almost like Wonder Woman. "Wait, were you going to shoot the hands off of a girl scout?"
"That's beside the point. And unless you have a warrant, I'm not saying anything about nothing!" he spat, still holding his bow. "Now unless you want me to call your superior, Elizabeth and David Strong from the LGBT, I suggest you get off my property."
"Dammit, why'd you have to tell him out information," I huffed. "Now he's going to call Pete, and there goes our bonuses."
"David. We have a warrant," she tells me in a 'duh' tone.
I knew that.
"You didn't. No, listen... Where did he go?" she said, turning towards the empty bush where Mr. Whatshisface used to be. "I can hear him. I ran back inside."
I kicked in the door, and we carefully charged in to find him. Out of the corner of my eye, I catch a glint off of his arrowhead and send a fireball in that direction. It wasn't enough to stop the arrow but I hit him in the shoulder.
"Leave me alone!" he yelled. He raised his left hand, which glowed with purple particles and pots, pans, and cutlery was flying our way. I grabbed Liz and dove behind a couch.
Liz tried to do her mind controlling thingy but it was no use. She pressed her hand to her forehead and cringed in agony. I looked up over the couch to see his eyes glow purple and focused on me. The couch flies out of the way crashing through the window, and he draws back his bow.
I push a gust of wind, throwing him off so I could tackle him. Once I'm on top, he pushed me against the ceiling with his mind powers. Liz runs up and punched the guy in the stomach, resulting in me falling into the coffee table, breaking it. They continue to fight hand to hand.
I rise to my feet to join in the fight, but he pushes us both back in a giant bust of purple light. When I look up, I see 6 translucent knives in his hand. Before we had chance to counter, he chucks them at as. I call to the ground feeling like I've just been stabbed a million times, but when I look down, there's no blood. After coming out of this shock, I am literally shocked by one of his trick arrows, electrocuting me in the should until I faint.
Jake
"I don't know how we got out of there alive," dad said, staring off into space.
"You bombed his entire living room while I called for an evac," mom informed us. "He got away, and we're back to square one."
"So, how were you guys while we were gone?" dad asked, changing the subject.
Oh nothing, I just joined a sport, found out what my super powers are, became attracted to two guys, and basically exposed our secret twice.
My heart dropped when I looked into my mother's bulging eyes.
I fucked up.
I don't know what I was doing with this chapter, but it seemed necessary to make the parents relevant again. Thanks for persevering! This isn't the last you'll see of Crazy Telekinetic Arrow Man.
Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and all that. See you guys next year!
