How Lovely { Johann Vera }

Chapter 1

"Elizabeth! Levántate! We almost have to go!" My brother's voice boomed from outside my door and I groaned, planting my pillow in front of my face in a failed attempt to block out his constant yells.
"Ya voy, Joel! Shut the hell up!" I shouted back, my voice still raspy considering I just woke up.
Well, today's my brother's big day. It's his La Banda audition that he's been waiting for for over 3 weeks. Both fingers crossed that he makes it because if not, he's a major whiner and I would not like to be living with that.

Minutes after I lied in bed just contemplating about the random little things in life, I decided to get up and head over to the bathroom. I performed all of my necessary morning duties and got dressed into the nicest apparel I could wear to the studio.
As I headed out of my bedroom I stopped and looked at the black and white picture of my grandad. I miss him so damn much and it warms my heart that Joel will be singing a song in tribute of him for the audition.
I sigh and walk out of my room, shutting the door behind me.

"Good Morning everyone," I greet as I take my seat at the table next to Joel.
"Buenos Dias, Elizabeth. If you're hungry then you're going to have to take your breakfast to go because we're running late." My mom handed me a piece of burnt toast and gave me quick peck on the cheek as she scrambled around the living room gathering her things.
"How lovely." I emotionlessly said while blankly staring at my bread. Joel chuckled and stood up from his chair, rushing me as he did so.
"Joel ya cálmate, pues. You'll make it to your damn audition on time."

"Prove it."

"I will once you-" I was cut off by the beeping of a car horn coming from outside.

"Ah that's our cue, sis. Time for me to make my dreams come true." Joel gleamed as he snatched the remaining piece of toast from my hands and stuffed it in his mouth.

I let out a frustrated sigh and followed Joel out the door. I got into the back seat and caught my breath for the first time this eventful morning.

"Listo?" My mom asked Joel who was clearly starting to become nervous.

"Absolutely."

And from there we were off to Univision Studios.
