Chapter 12

Joel's POV

I arrive at the hotel with Yoandri and Sebastian. I figured that if my sister liked him that much I might as well get to know him. He's not so bad.

"Hey have you tried calling Liz? She's not picking up." Sebastian tells me.

"I sent her a text but she didn't respond. Here let me try," I take my phone out and dial her number. It doesn't even ring once before going straight to voice mail.

"Nothing. She said she was here with her best friend so let me call her," i called Amanda and she picked up after the first two rings.

"Hello?" her voice came from the other end of the line.

"Amanda hey it's Joel,"

"Oh um hi Joel," There was a bit of an uneasy tone behind her voice. "You're back early."

"I texted Elizabeth that I'd be back by 7. It's 8:30 haha,"

"Oh? Wow. Time sure does go by hella fast.." Yea I was beginning to get a little confused.

"Mhm yea. Is Liz there? She's not picking up." It's quiet for a few seconds but then I hear her cough.

"Um no she..uh-she's not here right now. She went out to get us something to eat." Ok where the hell is my sister.

"Oh really?"

"Uh yea she should be back soon."

"Oh good. I'm with some of the guys so I'll just wait for her with you."

"Um you don't need to do that haha,"

"She's my sister. I believe I do. Room number?"

"Joel-" she pauses for a few seconds. "243."

"Thank you. Im on my way up now."

I hang up my phone right when Yoandri finishes checking us in.

"K our room is 240 and here's our card. Let's gooo" Yoandri hands me the card and I stick it in my pocket.

"No need. We're sticking with my sister and her friend for a while..well her friend until Elizabeth decides to show up." I say bitterly.

"Wait, what do you mean? Where is she?" Sebastian asks worriedly.

"Well according to Amanda, her best friend, she went out to get food. But that's total bullshit so we're gonna stick with her until she gets back." I explain. We start making our way to the elevator and up to the second floor.

"Where could she be, though?" Sebastian asked.

I shrugged. "Once again, no clue."

Amanda's POV

"Cmon Elizabeth pick up." i frantically whisper into the phone hoping that she would pick up for the fifth time. Not even a ring. Suddenly, the door opens and in walks Joel and two other guys.

Woah.

I lock my gaze with one of them. Mid-length, jet black hair, attractive. Wow. I quickly look away from him and focus on a very unhappy Joel. No matter how remotely attractive or whatever the guy is I can't get involved with anyone, at least not now.

"Uh hi, I'm Amanda. It's great to meet you guys." I extend my hand out for them to shake.

"Sebastian. Nice to meet you." He shakes my hand with a slight nod. So this is Sebastian. Nice choice Liz.

"Yoandri." He shakes my hand with a bright smile and I smile back. After a few second Joel purposely coughs behind me and I realize I'm still holding Yoandri's hand.

"Oh sorry." I laugh and let go of his soft hand.

"Hey hoel." I exclaim and turn around.

"You know pretty damn well my name isn't pronounced like that, kiddo." He shoots back and I laugh.

"Yea I know but it gets you annoyed so I'll keep doing it."

"Great okay. Now where's Liz?" He asks taking me off guard.

I shrug and shake my head. "Um I told you already, she's getting food."

He rolls his eyes and runs a hand through his now not so perfectly gelled hair. "You stutter every time you lie, Amanda. Where is she?" He asks again his tone getting angrier and angrier each second. I really don't know how to cover for her anymore she could've at least told me where she was going.

"Yea where is she?" Sebastian's voice pops up from behind me.

"Hey this is an A and B conversation. C wasn't invited." I would've thought of a better comeback but I'm trying to stall so this is all I got.

"I'm sure I am invited for wanting to know why my girlfriend's missing." He shoots back.

"I'm sorry, girlfriend?" Joel questions taken aback. Hm this is actually working.

I look over at Yoandri but quickly look away when we made eye contact.

"Well the title isn't official yet but we really like each other and um never mind lets just find her first and we'll continue this talk some other time." He tried brushing off the subject but I needed to avoid mine.

"No no please keep going I'm quite enjoying this." I folded my hands and he shook his head.

"Seriously let's ju-" Before he could finish the door creaked open and in walked the woman of the hour.
