Behind Lucy's silence during Natsu and Sting's conversation is a wild reminiscent taking over her mind. She remembers deeply how a little Sting being bullied by their classmates because of his anxious expression.
'Sting was really afraid of the crowd. He was the type of a person who prefers to be alone than to be with lots of people. I was lucky he was comfortable with me.' Lucy thought.
She examines his face. How does he manage to deal with people is a great difference. He changes a lot considering he was really scared of even starting a conversation with other people. They've grown anyways and Lucy is happy inside.
The mere fact that she was searched by a childhood friend is a very overwhelming point already. 'Not every childhood friend cherishes a moment like this anyway' she once thought.
"Okay. I don't smell anything wrong from you. So, uhm... Lucy, come over." Natsu finally allows this boy and Lucy to meet each other.
Sting's smile turns into a wider one showing his teeth as evidence that he is really excited to see Lucy after a long time. Lucy takes few steps and passes to Natsu in a bit second. An excited lady she is!
"Hi to my childhood friend who've never forgotten me! I am Lucy Hearfilia. Long time no see my dear friend!!!" She exclaims giving her very pleasant smile as she extends her hand for a handshake.
Sting runs over Lucy and instead of receiving the handshake initially offered by Lucy, he tightly hugs her and spins her around. 'I've finally found the girl who built my confidence to stand up' Sting thought.
When he stays Lucy down, without words, they stare at each other's eyes while smiling brightly. Imagine how childhood friends see each other again after quite some time.
Breaking the silence, Elfman speaks "Lucy has a man! That's a man for Lucy!"
"Woohoo! Now we know why Lucy doesn't pick a boyfriend!" Someone yells.
"But we are happy for you, Lucy!"
"You two look good together!"
"Really match well!!!"
Different compliments are thrown to the childhood friends which makes the two of them blush instantly. While the members are continuously complimenting them, they start to make their conversation.
"Hi Lucy! It's been really long time of not seeing you!" Sting exclaims excitedly.
"Yes it is. How are you? You've change a lot, you know." Lucy smiles and speaks shyly.
"I'm very glad. I've finally see you. I can't believe you are real now. Right in front of me. Oh, God! I missed you, Lucy!" He holds Lucy's hands.
"Wake up, Sting! Haha! I was also surprised seeing you again! I never thought you'd look for me again! And I miss you, too!" Lucy shakes Sting's hands and pulls a hug. She somehow breaks her wall of shyness.
Sting blushed and was first taken aback by the warm hug Lucy gave him and of course, the surprising fact that Lucy is also glad that Sting himself is actually there. He never thought Lucy would still be the same as the Lucy, the lovely friend he met before.
Everyone claps their hands due to happiness seeing Lucy happy. When their guild mate is happy, they should also be happy. Every member should support each other. That's Fairy Tail.
This should be the rule. But one of them is obviously not as happy as everyone. He only wraps his arms over his chest frowning and steps back as everyone cheers for the two.
He is Natsu, by the way.
