Are you ever just minding your own business, maybe just sat texting on your phone or something and then one of your older relatives comes to you and asks you how they work their phone, or another technical device?
THIS HAPPENS TO ME ALL OF THE TIME AND IT IS SO ANNOYING.♡ Before i begin can i just say that I'm not being ageist or whatever, this is just based off my experiences with my fam cause they can be quite useless on technology sometimes but i still laaave 'em lots :)
Okay so our generation at the minute are possibly the main users of technology, such as iPhones, iPads etc. mostly because thats just how we've kinda been brought up.
However, people such as my parents and grandparents are beginning to get a bit more familiar with such things. I have quite a few stories to tell, so sit back and enjoy :)♥︎ A few years ago, when my dad decided to get his first iPhone (he used to have Nokias lol) he was so amazed that it was touch screen, like he was literally obsessed. One day i was showing him something on the laptop (which is not touch screen) and he wanted to scroll down and INSTEAD of clicking the thing that makes the screen move HE STARTED TRYING TO SWIPE THE SCREEN omg he thought it was touch screen, ive never been so embarrassed.
♥︎ My dad was asking me why his battery was going down so fast, i told him it might be because all of his apps were open or something, so i showed him the thing (on iPhone) where you double press the home button and close the apps. IVE NEVER SEEN SOMEONE SO EXCITED, he was so happy about it and he went and showed my mum and they were both so amazed omg bless them, now they do it ALL the time.
♥︎ My grandma got a computer a few years ago, and she was really good at using it, kinda (i only had to show her how to do things like 57 times) but it started to be really slow so she decided to upgrade to an iPad (because she had been intrigued by mine) so she bought the iPad Air a few months ago.
The most recent excitement from it was when i showed her the Touch ID thing so she doesn't have to type her password, it literally made her day.
Another thing is that she always presses the screen SO HARD whenever she touches it, omg this makes me laugh so much - i've noticed that people who aren't familiar with iPhones etc. always press the screEN SO HARD LIKE OMG.♥︎ One time, i was at my grandmas and i'd like only just walked through the door and she goes 'Mollie, Mollie, you've gotta help me delete these things!' and i was like 'oh okay what have you done now?' and omg she had accidentally taken loads of pictures of herself and she didn't know how to delete them, it was hilarious.
♥︎ My grandad isn't very familiar with technology at all, (he knows how to work the TV but thats about it ngl) one afternoon he asked me how to work the iPad so i showed him and he got so confused, like he couldn't even press the ON button properly omg bless
♥︎ Another time my grandma was pressing the home button, but she pressed it for too long and of course Siri came on omg, i've never seen anyone look so scared, she didn't have a clue what to do aha
There are so many more stories i could tell you but i don't wanna drag this out too much, so im gonna end it here, i hope you enjoyed reading,
can anyone else relate to situations like these?goodbyeeee :)
