April
I knew that this day was gonna come. I was so excited about it. It was strange for me that I would no longer be living with my parents. That's all I was thinking about on a plane that was flying across the blue sky. My destination: New York City.
It wasn't easy for me to say goodbye to mom and dad, but I just needed to go to a better dancing school.
It's not like I'm the best dancer in the world, but I knew that dancing was my future, so did my parents. So my dad contacted his and arranged everything. Mom and dad decided to send me to the best dancing school in The USA. Since they couldn't come with me because of dad's job, I'm now on my way to the airport where the most important businessman of NYC was waiting for me. His name was Mr. William Red, also known as my grandfather, not necessarily in that order.
I'm thinking about my life in Texas. It was strange how my father, even though that his dad was that important person, chose a life of a quite common person. I liked my life and somehow I'm really thankful for dad's decision. I don't like glamour and richness, but I'll deal with grand dad's money... For dancing. I would deal with any kind of drama for it.
The fact that the NYC Dancing School accepted to have me as a dancer was really amazing. A dream coming true!
This wasn't my first time in New York though, I visited grand dad every summer. But when I got my bags this time, I felt different. I felt big. I just hoped that my head's not gonna become so too. I was completely lost in my mind when I heard granny called my name.
"April!" he shouted as I approached him. He had his usual outfit: expensive business clothes, it is. But behind his 'uniform' was that warm smile and endless love for his family, especially for his only son and me, his little grand daughter.
Who turned sixteen this summer, though.
"Hey, folk!" I told him smiling widely. Will, as I called him for short and in public, always wanted me to use slang when it comes to him. He once said that it helps him take a rest of his social life.
"It's been ages, honey." he said while letting his body guard Frank take my bags. "You just need to tell me everything that I've missed."
"We have time now, you know." I said happily. I truly looked forward to live with Will and to live this chapter of my life. I was happy to Felix and beyond!
"Yes, you're right my dear. But, before I forget", he said, firmly. "I have to tell you later about your new school and high school. But now, take a rest."
I grinned. Knowing him, he's already collected all the information I need, and the once I don't need, of course.
I got into a limo that was waiting for us. I just looked through the window. I missed the Big Apple, most because of Hope...
Hope! My best friend since forever! I quickly took my mobile out of my handbag and texted her that I'm here. Of course she knew I was coming, but I completely forgot to let her know that I'm already here.
I met her when we were like one year old and since then I was able to see her just during summer breaks. And on Skype, sure.
This was the first year of making the summer-rule exception, but we both didn't complain. We have all the time in the world now!
My phone buzzed, so I looked at it. It was a message from Hope.
'Finally! Which school did yor grandpa pick? Love you <3 H.'
I looked at Will and said: "Mm, folk, can you tell me which high am I going to now?"
"Yes, dear", he replayed. "The Nikola Tesla High. I chose it for you 'cause it's near your dancing school and it seems comfortable there. Nice people, very nice." he finished.
I responded her immediately about what I've just found out.
Nice people, said Will. I wonder what he meant... His way of seeing things was pretty different than mine. He probably thinks about rich people. I made a grimace.
Then, my phone rang. Hope's picture appeared on a screen, so I answered it at the same moment.
She yelled, so I moved my cell a bit away of my ear. And I swear I heard the sound of her bed moving. She must've been jumping.
"Hello to you to", I said cheerfully. "What's with the jumping?"
"Don't you get it? We'll go to the same high school. SAME!" she screamed.
Well, that sure was a good reason for jumping of joy, but Will would think I'm crazy if I do so. In a limo. So, I resisted.
"Yey!" I yelled instead, hoping it would be less strange.
"Look, I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow so I can help you move in. But now mom wants me to stop so..." She was still screaming while saying that.
With that, she ended up a call.
Hope, I thought.
Later that evening, while having a dinner, Will told me everything about my new schools.
It seems like NYCDS (New York City Dancing School) has very long tradition, even before becoming a dancing school. He mentioned a couple of names. I think those are kids who's parents worked with my grand D.
I remember Wade, or something like that. Granny told me that he was good-looking. Wade, not Will.
And, my high school was full of rich parents' children. Wonderful, as I predicted.
Hope called me again just to make sure that I'll expect her tomorrow. She'll come around 12 o'clock.
I drifted to bed early, tired of the trip. I wished grandpa goodnight.
I dreamed something about Taylor Lautner.
