April
I was finishing my breakfast, waiting for Hope to show up. Will was on his work.
I was pretty impatient. It wasn't because of Hope, she was never late. It's just, from some reason I woke up so damn early.
While waiting, I wondered what are my new friends gonna be like. I am talented in making new friends, so that wasn't a problem. I was just curious. Maybe a bit snobbish, but it'll be fun anyway. What would boys look like? I'm not that interested in boys, but who knows? Will forgot to tell me if I have to wear school uniform. If I do, what would it look like? I hated the idea of uniform, though. I just wanted to entertain myself.
The living room in Will's huge apartment was so large that I could dance there. He told me to do so whenever I feel like it. I liked that idea.
Suddenly, one of my favorite songs came on a radio.
I started to dance slowly, in a song rhythm. I mixed steps and repeated them in some parts. The emotions overwhelmed me. It was the best way of dancing: to feel the song. So, it wasn't happiness that filed me. That was... something that the song emits, but I felt as if that isn't the same feeling for everyone.
The door bell rang right when the song finished.
I opened the door to see Hope's wonderful smiling face. We almost jumped to each other's arms.
"Hope!" I screamed embracing her.
"April!" She screamed squeezing me back. I could smell her usual perfume. It made me so happy and I became all childish.
We stood at my doorstep for five minutes, not even moving. Gosh, I really, really missed her. It was so good to see her again that in some way, I felt recovered.
We finally stepped back, so I can look at her. She haven't change at all. She had that face that literally spoke for her that she's a very nice and kind person with two brown eyes. Her light brown hair was slightly waved and shorter than last year: now it was right under her shoulders. I was a bit taller than her.
"Get in, Hope!" We reached my room, both smiling widely.
"So, how's your brother?" I asked. Gene, Hope's brother was about to finish university next year. Not to mention that Hope looked like his female copy.
"Oh, he's doing fine." She replayed. "I have to admit that I see you more often than him." She added.
"Yep." I understood her. But she got used to him studying, that even if he was at home, she couldn't see him. With me, it was different. Whenever I'm in New York, we spend together like, a half of a day.
We started to unpack and sort my stuff. We've been talking for ages. I found out a lot of things about Nikola Tesla High, from her point of view, which was definitely closer to mine than Will's. I'll want to participate in photography section with her, because it sounds fun and we have tons of pics. Which means, we like to take pictures.
She also told me that Nikola Tesla was an important scientist and developer from Serbia, a small south-east European country. He had hard childhood, he lived for a long time and died in New York.
Huh, maybe Hope looks naive sometimes, but she's very smart.
Than, I told her how I feel when I dance. I took today as an example. She listened to me carefully. She said "Aha" or "Mm" in understanding from time to time. When I finished, she grinned.
"Awe", she said. "I'm so glad that you already found out what would you like to be in future and I'm so happy that you enjoy it. Seriously, that's one of the most important thing in everyone's life: a job. When you realize what's it gonna be this early, it's only plus for you, because you can work on it and improve yourself in it. And the most important thing about the job is: your love for it. That's a one-way ticket for success."
Not only smart, but wise she is.
"Thanks, Hope. This means a lot." I said, then I paused. " Wait, what are you gonna do after school?" I asked her.
"University?"
"Not that. Like, after complete education." I explained.
"I honestly don't know", she answered. "But, I know what are we gonna do to recover ourselves from this hard work!"
"What?" I asked curiously.
"Go SHOPPING!"
