Chapter 9

Adrianna's Point Of View:

My weekend was pathetic to say so in the least. The rest of the guys left on Friday, except for Carter who wanted to comfort me. The girls and I had our girl's night and they all left Saturday afternoon. I basically was moping the whole weekend. Carter stayed with me for the rest of the weekend because I didn't want to be left alone. Did I ever mention that he is the best cousin ever? Well he is. I'm always able to tell him what's bothering me. He's like the older brother I always wanted. Anyway, today was Monday and Carter was driving me to school. I was nervous about talking to Channing and facing Chandler. As soon as we arrived, Channing was leaning against my locker.

"Hey."

"Ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

Channing gave me a weak smile before grasping my hand and leading me out to the football field. We went up near the top of the bleachers and sat in silence. He was still holding my hand and was mindlessly tracing patterns. I opened my mouth to say something, but Channing beat me to it.

"Were you lying?"

"Lying about what?"

"Where you lying when you said that you weren't in love with him anymore? Tell me honestly."

"I wasn't completely telling the truth. There's always going to be that little part of me that loves him, but I'm not in love with him anymore."

"How does that make sense?"

"Ok let me put it in guy language. I'll always love him like family not like a relationship."

"Oh."

I chuckled. He was so hopeless. He gave me a small smile which I gladly returned.

"Want to continue what we started on Saturday?"

"Channing, you're going to have to jog my memory."

He smirked and slowly leaned in. Just when our lips were about a centimeter apart, someone kicked a soccer ball and it hit the top bleacher near my head. I shrieked and hopped into Channing arms. I looked down at the field and the whole soccer team was down there, including Chandler. He was looking at me, daring me to make the next move. Well that's what he's gonna get. I stood up on the bleachers and flipped him off with my right hand.

"Piss off!"

The whole team busted out laughing. Saying that Chandler looked pissed off was an understatement. He was furious. I grabbed the ball and threw it back at him. He easily dodged it and ran up the bleachers. He tried to get to Channing, but I blocked his path. If looks could kill, he would have me six feet under.

"Stay out of this Adri."

"Stay away from her Chandler."

Channing walked past me and glared at Chandler. They stood chest to chest. It was as if they were speaking through the silence. The field stood still and all of the players we're watching closely.

"I told you that I would kill you if you touch her."

"Again, was that a threat or a promise?"

"Give it a minute and you'll find out."

I stepped in between them and put my hands on their chests. I gave Channing a small smile and saw his face soften.

"Chandler, please leave."

Chandler brushed my hand off of him and stormed off to the field. Channing grabbed my hand and we walked back inside. We headed into first period mythology and he never let go of my hand.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last period Drama had come. I've been dreading it all day. Chandler, Channing and I sat at our assigned table. We were going to do the scene where my character Erica meets Channing's character Leo in a music store.

"Excuse me miss, I couldn't help, but notice a beautiful women like you, alone in this establishment. May I have the honor of receiving your name?"

"My name is Erica and you are?"

"Oh that was rude of me. My name is Leo. Well Erica, are you single by any chance?"

"No, actually I have my boyfriend, Ashton, waiting for me outside."

"Alright, well it was lovely meeting you Erica. Will I see you here again?"

"You most definitely will."

"Good bye Erica."

"Goodbye Leo."

According to the script, Erica and Leo met at the music store everyday and became close friends over a course of a year. Then Ashton cheats on her, she finds out, and she confronts him. She leaves Ashton and goes to live with Leo for the rest of their lives. Sounds like a pretty good ending to me.

"Hello! Earth to Adrianna!"

I snapped out of my gaze to see Hannah and Athena, staring at me. Everyone was leaving the room so the bell probably rang. I got up and followed them outside.

"Where you listening at all, Adrianna?"

"To be honest, Hannah... Not really."

"Ok, to make it quick, Athena was talking about how she hates Jack, because he was flirting with her one day, and then making out with some random chick the next."

I looked at Athena. Her face had turned expressionless, but the scowl stayed none the less. I put my hand on her shoulder and gave her a weak smile. She gave me a small grin.

"Alright, guys I have to go. Channing is waiting for me."

I waved at them and they started walking home. They live on the same block so they walk home together every day. I ran up to Channing and his eyes were shining with mischief. Ok, I'm officially scared.

"Hey, Adrianna, your brother's not going to be back until Saturday, right?"

"Yeah."

"And, your mom's not going to be back until next week?"

"Yes, why?"

"Ok, its official, we are going to Jeanette's party tonight!"

I grimaced. I hated parties. Even when I was Chandler's girlfriend, all these drunken dudes still hit on me. Plus people are disgusting and there's always that one couple that are practically having sex in a corner.

"Channing, I don't know. I don't really like parties."

"Come on Adrianna! You've been cooped up all this time. Please come to the party as my date?"

I looked up at him and he was just scratching the back of his neck, nonchalantly, and avoiding my gaze. I guess I could try and have fun.

"Alright, I'll be your date, Channing."
