The Curse Of Five

Chapter 23

This caused misery and misfortune to the family for years for this they were eternally angry and decided to do anything in their power to sabatos gertrude.

Katherine 

We camp on the rocky beach,hidden by a group of fir trees,this is where we stay from the next couple of days. Having no money,nor any food,our options were slim to none. over the past few days we have been working to make tools and fend off the little beach.  I've come to find out that my human moms name is Rosa,she explains to me that I have a human dad that lives in a little house in the suburbs. 

Every once and awhile I look out to the lake and try to catch a glimpse of the crash,but it's too far away. The closest I get to being able to make my mind connects and realize that this really happened,is the search lights of helicopters,each time they pass we try to get them to see us.

"What about the other innocents or people like you?! What are they going to do if they aren't already dead?!" I have been aruing with my H.mom  about going back for the others. "If they aren't dead yet then the helicopters will get them." She tells me trying to get me to calm down. It doesn't matter though tonight I will sneak away and see if anyone is out there.

I lay on the beach awake,waiting for Rosa to fall asleep. As soon as she is done I run out to the shore line and change. I now know better that to change into another fish so this time I'll try my luck in the sky. As fast as I can go I hit the skies in the form of a loon. I fly over four people trying to stay afloat on empty carry-ons.  As well as they know who what I can do... I fly back to shore and change into a small shark (so as not to scare the humans on the suitcases) and gently bit the rope on the raft. 

It doesn't take as long to get back to the crash now that I know where to go and how to get there. When I get close to the crash site I try and sink myself under the water so they won't see me and swim slower so it looks like the raft is floating out of nowhere. I first hear the vibrations of the violent shifts of someone struggling to get off the suitcase and  then I hear the shouts; "Here! Over here everyone!"  And then I hear the swishing of people jumping into the water. "Help! Somebody help her! She can't swim and she's frozen solid. When I don't feel the any more vibrations I know that everyone who can be is. 

"Leave her we have to go! Do you want to die to?!" I hear from above me. "Go! Leave me! You live!" I hear from a higher pitched voice and I know it's her. I slowly drift closer."No I can't leave you here when there is something I can do!"

"You have to!"

"I'm sorry that this had to happen to you." I hear them. I decide that I have to do something to end this.  I feel the water shift as they hold each other for what they feel is the last time."It's time to go now." She says after they kiss. "No I won't let you go!" He yells after her but she has already let go and propelled herself out of his embrace. I feel him stop moving and start to cry. I move closer to him and give enough room for his friends to get him on,while I take the rope out of my mouth and dive for the girl.

It doesn't take long to find her her blond hair turned darker under the water and floating around herb in such a calming soothing way it's beautiful. I nudge her with my sharp tipped nose and prod her on my back. I slowly start up to the raft but she slides down my slippery back until she hits my fin and then I can't swim. I decide it wouldn't hurt to hold her in my mouth until we reach near the surface then I can prod her on the raft with my snout.

After all is said and done I relup the rope in my mouth and begin to tow it to shore. The bad thing is that the sun is beginning to rise, in brilliant oranges and golds,and I am not at the campsite. Once I make it to shore I drift in the water a little  and wait for them to turn around before changing into a human again I slowly emerge and run to the wet group of four I quickly grab my jacket and lay it on the barely breathing girl.

"How did you d-d-d-do that?!" The girl cries   "Well since you four were all a part of a group that caused the plane to crash in a failed attempt to kill me I should think that you would know!" I spit.

We create a small temporary little group so we can all try and survive together after I explain to Rosa what had happened that night. We ended up finding a for sale building That we can stay in until we can find someone's phone and go home, well all exceptions of me of course,even if I wanted too I can't go home. 

We walk into a bookstore hoping to find someone with a phone  and maybe even a way home,the whole time nobody mentions the plane or the plot to kill me or me saving them. "Hey take a look at this Rosa!" I crie with clear desperation in my voice. It is a picture of me and my mom and the writing above it reads;"Have you seen me? Katherine age 17 almost 18. Is commonly known as the elephant girl. If you have any information please come to this address..."  At this I am scared. Is it them?!   I think to myself. "Is it them?!" She shakes her head. "No it's not if it was they would have the picture of you as a human. We should go it might be the other four."

And so it was later that day we walk to the address given.  Once we reach the door I become suddenly aware of what I am about to do and become violently scared. Rosa grabs the brass door knocker and bangs hard I hide behind her and flinch when the door opened. "Hey its her!" I hear a female voice call from the doorway. then three others join around. "Katherine! It's you! we've been looking everywhere for you!" They yell and push me into the doorway.
