The Curse Of Five

Chapter 16

"I say again your only hope is the five children! You can't cheat death without consequences!"

I watch as Ryan,Courtney,Gale,and two other stranger walk into my biome. Before I can say anything Ryan explains everything to me. "Sorry,I was just tired of hearing you two explain that so many times" Ryan says. I am In such a daze though I don't even care."I don't believe it. If you have gifts too use them." I say crossing my arms over my chest. 

I don't want to have to act this way but I have been given no choice. I lead Courtney to my rock table and take some moss,water,rhubarb,long jungle grasses,and a bowl of table sugar. I take her hands and lay them on the table. I then pore water over her fingers to remove the dirt,meanwhile Hazel takes her suitcase and opens it up to retrieve a small notepad and a pen. She starts to doodle. I then make little finger army hats out of the moss and put them on her fingers.This should help keep them clean and to reduce the pain. I then take the long grass and weave them through her fingers to make almost bandaids.

 I had thought I had done pretty darn good with my bandaid grass until Hazel right in front of me drew a box of band aids she reached into the picture and took it out. "Sometimes the way it comes off the page is different but same tactic." She says. I am out of words as she puts the box on the table I then replace the leaves for bandaids. 

I push the bowl of sugar with the rhubarb in it to courtney. Our dad used to do this for us when we got sick or when we got hurt. The sweet and sour of the rhubarb dipped in sugar brings back good memories but courtney doesn't remember real well she was real little when he used to do that.

"Okay I believe you as for you though prove it." I look at Micheal. "What animal am I thinking of?"  I ask. "Hm it isn't spot is it" He nudges Hazel and looks at the cages that house a leamer and a fat cat."No Its an anaconda,now it's a rhinoceros." He sees the uncertainty in my eyes so he adds this. 

"Hey look there are three of us five that have been using our powers for years now,I'll even give you a clue we are all trapped in this biome. I'll tell you something else,unless we find Katherine and unit the five we will be doomed for all eternity understand? Now we didn't spend over a thousand dollars American dollars which mind you is kindof hard to find in dublin,just for you to push us away." He does have a point. I decide to give them a chance,after all Gale did just the same thing to me and we are close friends,plus it does kinda make sense we all have powers and we all have a necklace that so far hasn't come off.

"I'm so sorry for the way I've acted." I bow my head and start to weep. Gale comes to my side and hugs me. "It's ok once a friend always a friend right?" She holds out her hand and we shake on it."From now on I won't let anyone come between us all of us." I say as I look over at Hazel and Michael.

I then move on to courtney.This will be hard. She took the worst of it all. She looks away from me as I approach her. " I'm so so sorry." I take her hand in my hands and start to use my powers. "Can you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?" I ask her she looks up and I let go of her hands. She stares in awe as a beautiful monarch butterfly is swept away by the wind after sucking the nectar from the flower in Courtney's hand. She nods and smiles.
