A/N: I'm baaaack! Sorry it's been so long! I've been super busy with school, you know, the rush that lasts from thanksgiving till winter break? Anyways, I've been working a book to actually be published (YAY), so most of my time has been dedicated to that but, UPDATE!! Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and happy birthday to me so, here you go. Enjoy.
Chapter Seven
I got up early the next day, as it was a customary Sunday tradition to go out to the mall with Summer. I went downstairs to find my mom making breakfast.
"Hey Mom? I'm going out with Summer, is that ok?"
"Are you sure you feel up to it honey?" She asked, as she tossed a pancake in the air which I caught on my plate.
"Yeah, I think I just needed rest." I answered.
"Ok take some aspirin before you go ok? I've gotta run. That emergency call? Turns out to actually be important. I'll be back at six ok?" She flipped the last pancake, caught it on a plate, and grabbed her keys. "Love you." She kissed my cheek and ran out the door.
"Bye Mom!" I yelled after her, taking a hot pancake off the plate. As she pulled out of the drive way, Summer pulled in.
"Hey girl!" Summer yelled. "Are those pancakes?"
"Chocolate chip. Come and get while they're hot!" I yelled throwing a pancake through the air at her.
"Thanks." She said, voice muffled by the pancake on her face.
"Your welcome! Eat quickly! Come on Summer!" I dragged her out the door pancake in hand. "Drive. Mall. NOW!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We shopped forever, getting gifts for teachers, trying on clothes, and finally frozen yogurt.
"I'm telling you, this is possibly the most amazing the EVER!" I said, happily slurping my ice cream. Summer looked at me, eyebrow raised.
"You know sometimes I can't telling if your a five year old girl with pigtails, or a twenty five year old marine." She said grinning.
"I'm both!" I proclaimed, as we walked towards the movie theater, planning on seeing the new Stars Wars movie (I HAD TO).
As we walked past a little girl I heard, "But we have to! Star Wars is AMAZING! I want you to take me! It's so pretty, see?" I smiled, but then crumpled to the ground as pain shot through my head.
"Arcea!" Summer screamed. "Arcea! Arcea!"
"Arcea!" A young mans voice said sharply. "We have to go. They'll catch us!"
"Arcea, what's wrong?" Summer flashed back into view, as the pain in my head started to lesson.
"Arcea! You need to focus!"
The pain spiked again.
"Concentrate darling, we need to find the keeper before they find us!"
"But River! I wanna see the new movie! It just came out! Look, it's The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe! It's so pretty!"
"Listen to me Arcea! You have no time for foolish games like that!" The man was shaking me.
Summer was shaking me. Someone was screaming.
Screaming.
"To late they're here!" The man yelled. I trembled, paralyzed and scared.
"What do I do do River?"
"Run little girl, run and don't look back! Go! Now Arcea!"
"Arcea!"
"I remembered, like he said."
Summer looked scared
"But I'm ok."The last thing I remembered before I blacked out was River's worried face, hovering over me, a face that belonged to another name. Lucas. The man from the parking lot.
A/N: Well that was shorter than intended, but hey. So I've got a surprise for you guys, so if you don't know about it yet, just keep checking my profile! Happy holidays!
