[Present]
Winter snow was slowly evaporating as Spring began to take over Starbridge. The once soft snow was now mere shallow puddles. Pink, orange, purple and red flowers painted the landscape with a certain delicacy. Couples wandered around hand in hand and families paraded down the crowded streets of Deary Avenue. Every Spring, Summer and Autumn the road was packed but during Winter the the friendly sun-basked streets turned into an abandoned frozen wasteland.
Ashlynn fiddled with the end of her sleeve as her eyes watched the people walk by Iza's house, hoping to find the mop of ashen hair that was Iza's head. Pastel colours coated everyone who walked past, making the job of finding a boy clad in black easy. Emerald eyes seemed to glow in the crowd- Iza. Ashlynn jumped up, excited to have company since he had left.
When Ashlynn had arrived around a month earlier at his house, she was certain that he'd send her away, especially since she wouldn't stop sobbing but he didn't. Instead, he got her to work for her keep and she seemed to of earned it because she hadn't been kicked out yet.
"What did you do while I was gone?" Was the voice thing Iza questioned as his tall stature entered through the door, temporarily allowing the chattering sounds of people's voices into the home. Iza's orbs sparkled in the candlelight which he always had going.
Ashlynn rolled her shoulders with a small yawn. "There isn't much to do." It wasn't a lie. Iza almost laughed, but seemed to catch himself, before the emotion of delight could take over his face.
"There is lots of house work to be done."
