I drive in silence the whole way home thinking hard about Alex. Once I get home I go straight into my room and lay on my bed, my mom calls and says she'll be at work late so I decide to go to Alex's house. I put on some sweatpants and a T-shirt, I'm really comfortable around him. I text him that I'm coming over.
*Rose*
Hey can I come ovr at 6?
*Alex*
Yeah sure!! :D
*Rose*

I set down my phone and get ready to go.
On the way to his house I stop by little ceasers to get some pizza, after i pick it up I continue driving to his place, the delesious smell of pizza killing me.
"hey!" Alex says opening the door, I smile " I come bearing pizza" " yes I see that" he says licking my lips which completely cuts me off Gaurd and I end up staring at his lips. " Earth to Rose" Alex says trying to get my attention "oh uh heh sorry I.. Uh" he smirks, then starts walking closer to me. I stop breathing completely and my whole body tenses up. " woah chill I was just kidding" he chuckles. " yeah I know I just uh" I can't even get a full sentence out right now. What is wrong with me!? Frustrated with myself i try to chill out. It's just Alex, he's your best friend, chill. I keep telling myself over and over.
We sit down on the couch and watch doctor who while we eat our pizza, he always insist we watch re runs of when Rose was the doctors companion. It always gets me all tingly inside when he does this. I finish my pizza and start to fall asleep when he puts his arm around me and I lay my head on his chest feeling so safe and happy. I doze off with a warm smile on my face. I wake up to hear my phone ringing on the counter. Alex gets up and grabs it for me. " thanks" I say yawning and taking my phone. The screen says Kaya. I hesitate but decide to answer it. "Hey" I say trying not to sound freaked out.

"Hey, so I need some advice about something"
*Rose*
"umm okay.."
*Kaya*
"So I want to ask Alex out and I need to know what place he likes to eat"
My heart drops and I hear some other girls in the background giggling. She's calling me about this on purpose. What if she knows I like Alex! Oh no no no no this isn't good I think. " um.. Pizza bye" I say hanging up. Alex walks out of the bathroom, "who was that?" He asks. Oh um it was Kaya... "oh what'd she want?" "she uh.." I look down at the ground " she wanted to know your favorite place to eat so she could ask you out." He laughs "Kaya? Really?" "yup" I say sounding a bit too mad. "Well I don't like her so that's not gonna happen" he says "Oh well who do you like?" I ask so relieved he doesn't like her. He scratches the back of his head, "oh ya know... Someone " "oh come on you can tell me" I say. "Okay how about we both say who we like at the same time?" He says " Okay " I agree. 1..2..3 "You" we both say at the same time. For a minute we are both silent looking at each other blushing, then he comes and sits next to me a bit closer them before. " So what does..." Before I can finish what I'm about to say he leans in to kiss me. I can feel his breath on my lips when his mom walks in and we both scoot away from each other. " Hello you too, having fun?" She looks at us glaring a bit. "Oh um it wasn't what it looked like.." Alex says. "I should go" I say, Alex looks at me and mouths sorry. I turn away and walk out the door. I sit down in my car and think to myself " WHAT AM I DOING I JUST ALMOST KISSED MY BEST FRIEND!" I Start the car and keep yelling at myself in my head the whole way home.
