My eyes burned, along with the rest of my body. The needles in my arms made me sleepy, but I refused to close my eyes, terrified of what the darkness would bring. When I arrived at the hospital and they saw my state, they immediately started screaming at Jase, but I quickly told them no, that he was my boyfriend.

After we, mainly Jase, had explained to them what had happened, they contacted the police and Jase contacted my uncle, who in turn contacted my father. My father had reportedly been distraught and was catching the first plane out here, much to my dismay. I just wanted to forget everything and go back to my Uncle’s, snuggle into Jase’s arms and sleep forever. The hospital said that wasn’t possible for another day or so.

It had been a few hours and the police had just left, leaving Jase and I alone at last. He sat on the bed next to me, starring sadly into my tired eyes. He looked as if he had just seen his dog die, his blonde hair was sticking up all over the place as he has been repeatedly running his hands through it in frustration, and he had developed deep purple bags under his gorgeous eyes.

“You should probably go to sleep, Izzy. You’ve had a long night.” He stated, running a hand over his face. Shaking my head, he rolls his eyes. “Why, why do you keep refusing to sleep? I’m here, you’re in a hospital, and you’re safe. Hell, there are even guards outside your door now that the hospital knows who you are.” He grumbles.

His tone has my eyes prickling with tears, I wouldn’t normally cry over that, but right now my emotions are running on high. “Fuck, I’m so sorry Isabel.” He mumbles as he rushes over to crush me into him, realizing his mistake had made me cry.

Jase rocks me back and forth in his arms until I quiet down, but even when my tears do dry up, he doesn’t let go. We sit quietly, curled into each other’s arms in the sterile white hospital room with the only noise being the nurses out in the hall.

Slowly, my eyes begin to close and sleep had almost possessed me, when a small knock sounded on the door. My eyes open lazily, as Jase calls for whomever to come in. A small middle-aged nurse comes into the room, when she takes in Jase and I’s position she smiles sympathetically.

“Hello dear, some of your results have come back… I’m going to need the young man to leave so we can talk, is that okay?” She stated, brushing a blonde lock of hair behind her ear.

Shaking my head furiously, I cling tighter to Jase, not letting him leave. He looks down at me sadly and kisses my forehead. “I’ll be right outside, Izzy. It won’t be long and I’ll be right back, okay?” He said as he began pulling away from me.

Tears began to fall down my face again as I clung onto his arm with a death grip. “No.” I whimpered the first word I’ve uttered since we’ve arrived at the hospital. “I need you, please don’t go.” I whisper, my vision blurring due to the tears.

The nurse sighs and nods to Jase, who practically runs back to me and gathers me into his arms. “Now Isabel, some of the things I am about to say are graphic, which is why I suggested the boy to leave. Are you sure you want him here?”

I nod, my head resting on Jase’s chest. “We did the test to see just how many times you were… sexually abused…” she trailed lightly.

“Raped. I was raped, just say it.” I grumbled, making Jase stiffen.

She blinks and clears her throat. “Erm, well, yes… Your test came back that there were three different sperms. Now are you on the pill, Isabel?” I nod. “That’s very good, but we are still concerned for you. Considering the circumstances, and the amount we’ve found within you, we feel it would be safer if you took the plan B pill to prevent any unwanted pregnancies.”
