Stella screamed and squealed and jumped up and down for ten minutes straight when I told her exactly what Jase had said. As soon as she calmed down, she dragged me down to the mall where we walked around for three hours trying to find the perfect party outfits. I wanted to look amazing, considering this was my first date and my first high school party. Stella just wanted something new to wear. She found a gorgeous mid thigh sequined purple dress with no straps. It was skin tight as well but she looked amazing in it, like she does in everything.
I was an entirely different story. It look forever to find soemthing decent for me to wear. But finally, I stumbled across the perfect outfit and didn't even glance at the price tag because I knew this was what I had to wear to his party tonight. I know dad probably won't be to happy when I tell him, but grandmum will deal with him. After we paid for our outfits, along with shoes and accessories, we headed to the hair salon where I got bleach blonde low lights to lighten my hair and then got it curled. Stella got black low lights put in hers and got it perfectly straightened.
When we arrived at home, I shouted to my dad that we were going out and we had to get ready. I'm sure he shouted something back along the lines of "come here" but I was to excited to even care and ran straight for my room with Stella in tow. Since it was already 6:30 we had to hurry, but we also planned on showing up fashionabley late. As I did my make up, I put on a thin line of black eyeliner, mascara to make my bottom and top eyelashes look super long then did a little smokey eye. By the time I finished, so had Stella.
"Nice work." I complimented her light make up that brought out her green eyes.
"You too, babe." She winked and handed me my dress.
We both dressed in the middle of my bedroom and then lathered outselves in lotion and perfume to make sure we smell amazing, because face it, what's looking good if you don't smell good too? The last step to our getting ready process was pulling on our heels. After that we goofed off and took pictures like any normal teenagers do. When we checked the time it was already 8, so Stella grabbed her clutch packed with both of our things and we headed downstairs to tell my dad we were headed out.
Our heels clicked as we walked down the stairs and as soon as we reached the bottom, my dad and grandmother waited with their arms crossed. My grandma smiled when she seen us and my dad scowled, already disapproving.
"No, go change Isabel." He grumbled.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms as well. "No daddy, I'm 18. I'll wear what I want and look, grandma likes it!" I argued. I know it was a low blow to use the 18 card, but it was the truth.
My dad then did a once over of my outfit. He narrowed his eyes at my four inch nude heels and sighed when he new I wasnt givng up. I know he hates my dress but I though it looked amazing on me. It was a little shorter than mid-thigh and strapless with a V that showed just enough clevage. The gold color of it shimmered and looked great against my tanned skin and the black bow under my breast made my clevage look even better.
"You look so much like your mother..." My dad sighed. Instantly I felt guilty for reminding him of mom. I knew then I'd cave and go change into something that didn't make me look like my fabulous mother.
Grandma pulled dad into a sideways hug. "She does, even acts like her. And you know Sofie would've let her go like that, she looks beautiful Harry. Don't ruin the girls night."
As soon as I went to turn and head back up stairs, Stella grabbed my arm and yanked me towards the door. "Sorry, dad! But we wanted to be fashionable late, not late late. I'll get her back safe and sound and by two am I promise!" Stella called to my dad as she dragged me to my car. And yeah, she does call my dad, dad. Her's left a long time ago.
