Standing on the doorstep with a huge smile on my face, suitcases at my feet and Jase at my side, I still couldn't keep the nervous butterflies from my stomach. I waited and waited until finally I heard someone scream, "I'm coming, geez!"
Cocking my head to the side, I wondered who the voice belonged too. It was far too young to be Uncle Jason and far too maleto be Aunt Stevie or Sophia, their daughter. I hope I haven't gotten the wrong house, how embarrassing would that be?
Turning to Jase, I open my mouth to tell him that I must have gotten the wrong house, but the door opening beat me to it. Turning back to the door, my eyes widened when they landed on a boy in only wet swimming trunks. Water was glistening off of his toned six pack as he shook the water out of his short blonde hair.
"Hi, who are you?" The boy asked before I could get a word out of my mouth.
Gulping, "Um... Is this the Bastelli residence?" I asked, my voice wavering out of pure nervousness.
The boy cocked an eyebrow, clearly growing annoyed. "It is... now who are you?"
Jase squeezed my hand while I just stood there, speechless. "Sorry, she's a little nervous. But are Stevie or Jason home?" Jase's voice rang out, asking about my Aunt and Uncle. Thank god he was with me, or I would have probably chickened out and went to a hotel.
"No, they're not home at the moment. But seriously, who are you guys? It's not every day there are British people on the doorstep." The boy asked.
Footsteps had us all looking behind him, only to see a gorgeous black haired girl coming toward us in nothing but a lime green bikini. I'm half tempted to turn around and cover Jase's eyes because I know this girl is every guys dream. But as she comes closer, I shriek in excitement at the same time she does. Pushing past the blonde boy and forgetting Jase, I run into the girls arms as she hugs me.
"Izzy! I can't believe you're here!" She shouts as we hug each other.
As we pull apart, I see she is taking in my new appearance. The last time she saw me was two years ago when Uncle Jason and Aunt Stevie decided on an English Christmas.
"I know! It's been forever, two years." I told Sophia. As a throat cleared, we both glanced back to an uncomfortable looking Jase and an annoyed looking unknown blonde haired boy.
Sophia giggles as she runs into the boy's arms. He shoots Jase a look that says, back off she's mine. Rolling my eyes I walk back to Jase and grab his hand, so it is obvious to them we are together. Looking back at Sophia I ask, "So do you mind if we stay here? If not I can go get a hotel close by. Boston's a big area, I'm sure they've got plenty of nice hotels."
The boy holding onto Sophia is still looking so confused. He looked from me to Sophia and back again. "Why do you two look so much alike?"
Sophia and I looked at each other and burst out laughing. Jase looked as amused as Sophia and I, considering he knows she is my cousin. Once we all sobered up, Sophia kissed the boy on his cheek before turning back to us.
"Sorry guys. This is Jake, my boyfriend. Jake, this is my cousin Izzy and..." She trailed off, not knowing who Jase was.
Jase offered her his hand, "Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. I'm Jase, Izzy's boyfriend."
After Sophia shook Jase's hand, Jake shook it. "Why don't we all go into the living room and talk some more?" Sophia offered. I nodded and picked up my suitcases as Jase did the same. We followed her inside and sat out suitcases by the entryway door. Once in the living room, Sophia and Jake sat on the love seat while Jase and I sat on the couch facing the love seat. It was a cozy house, one that actually had that homey feel unlike the palace.
