By the time we were done in the salon and the mall, it was pitch black outside and all of our stomachs were making animal like noises. We all laughed as Aunt Kate suggested some sort of low key restaurant down the street. Without even caring what types of food we would be able to choose from there, we agreed, willing to eat just about anything right now.

Since leaving the salon, I had yet to look at myself; I said I’d prefer to do it alone. Kate and Stella kept telling me I looked exactly like my mom had, which I guess was a giant compliment on my part, since my mum was gorgeous. When we arrived to the restaurant, I excused myself to the bathroom. As soon as I entered the room, I checked to see if anyone else was in there and when there wasn’t I finally took the courage to turn around and look at myself in the mirror.

What I saw shocked me. I had long blonde hair, down a little past my shoulders. It was layered and completely straight and parted to the left. My eyes had dark make-up around them, bringing out the blue. My face was flawlessly pale. And my clothes made it all the better, as I sported a pair of black skinny jeans and a baby blue off the shoulder top. I looked stunning, better than I ever had before. I looked like my mum.

Smiling at myself, with my new found looks and courage, I walk out of the bathroom and head to the table I spot Stella and Aunt Kate at. As soon as I sat down, the questioning began.

“What do you think? Too much? Too little? Come on, tell us!” They both shouted.

I cringed at the loudness in their voices but continued smiling. “I look like my mum… I like… pretty.” I whisper, almost as if I’m still trying to grasp it, which I really am.

Just as they both begin to speak again, a new voice cuts us all off. “Sorry to interrupt ladies, but would you care to order your drinks? I’m your waiter, Jase.” The masculine voice said.

Raising an eyebrow, I look up to see the most gorgeous guy ever. He had shaggy blonde hair and pure blue eyes. Also when he smiled he sported dimples. His fingers were long and strong looking, along with the rest of his body. You could tell he was into sports, meaning he was a popular kid.

He looks over at me and winks, causing me to look down at the table and blush. I was never any good at eye contact; that was one thing people always said made me bad at being in the royal family, eye contact was a must.

Everyone order their drinks and when it was my turn, I hesitated before mumbling “water”.  And as soon as he walked away, Stella and Aunt Kate didn’t hesitate to gossip about how gorgeous he was by talking about exactly what I found attractive about him. I knew I shouldn’t think more into the wink, but he was just too damn cute not to.

“Did you see that, Isabel? He just smiled at you when he walked by again!” Stella gushed.

“Huh?” I asked confused, to focused on my own thoughts to know what she was talking about. She motions to something behind me, telling me to turn around and when I do, I come eye to eye with our waiter again. He smirks and winks again.

I blush a deeper shade of red and turn back to Kate and Stella. “Oh my gosh!” They shout. “He so likes you Izzy!”

I roll my eyes. “No he doesn’t. Why would anyone like someone like me in the first place?”

Someone clears their throat, causing me to look up to the source of the noise. Of course, it was Jase. “Not to be nosey miss, but I think someone would like you because you’re very beautiful. Now, would you guys like to order?”

By now, I don’t think it is possible for my cheeks to get any redder. This boy needed to stop and stop now. I wasn’t going to go falling for any of his games, I knew his type. He was the type to make fun of me like the boys and girls at the mall did earlier. And now just because I’ve gotten a make-over people want to be nice to me… No. Hell No.

We ordered our food and I refused to make any more eye contact with this Jase boy for the rest of the night. But I should have known with Stella and Aunt Kate, it wouldn’t be that easy. By the time we had gotten done eating our main course, they forced me to order the dessert that I didn’t want. The boy continued to flirt with me.

“When he comes back, you’re getting his number. If he doesn’t give it to you, you have to go get it from him.” Stella stated, raising an eyebrow, basically daring me to argue with her. Sighing in defeat, I began to think up a plan to get out of getting his number.

“Here he comes, get ready!” Kate said, sounding excited.

I groan and think quickly. Oh, call my dad! Quickly, I pick up my phone and hit my dad’s number, pulling the phone to my ear. My dad picks up just as Jase stops at our table, the receipt in his hands. “Izzy, you okay?” My dad asks.

“Yeah, I’m fine. I just wanted to see if grandma got in safely?”

“Yes, she is here just fine and dandy. Aren’t you out with Kate and Stella, when will you be home?” He asked curiously.

Glancing back to see Jase watching me, I turn my head a little more away from him. “Um, I can be home in about twenty minutes. Tell grandma to stay up!” I said, hoping Jase would be gone by the time I hang up.

“Will do.” Click. He hung up. I gulp and turn my head back to see Jase smiling down at me with those gorgeous blue eyes. I bit my lip and take the receipt that he was holding out for me in his hands.

Jase smiles at me and winks once again. “There’s a note on the back.” And with that he walked away.

My eyes widened as I slowly flip the receipt in my hand, and written in boyish hand writing was his number and a note. “Call me sometime babe, Jase.”
