Part 33

"Surprise." I said solemnly to Natalie, my brother, and Chris who were all at the door.

"BACK SO SOON?" Natalie asked hugging me. Thats when the tears came. They poured down my face like a waterfall. "Oh no." she said stroking my back. My brother looked at me,

"Jul's what happened?" he asked. I sniffled.

"Steve and I, we, broke...up." I responded barely able to get it out. I went on explaining everything. Jackson was a great brother, he probably thought I was an idiot for breaking up with him..but all he did was hug me.

Then my phone rang, Steve.

"Hello?" I said clearing my voice.

"Did you land ok? Are you home?" he asked me.

"Yes." I said.

"I miss you."

"I miss you too. Merry Christmas." I said, then I hung up.

Natalie brought me to the nursery, it was amazing but it was the last thing I wanted to see right now.

"Nat, I love you and I've missed you. But I'm going home." I said. She nodded sympathetically and Jackson drove me home.

"Jackson?"

"Yeah?"

"Did I do the wrong thing?" I asked looking straight ahead with tears about to fall.

"Well, if your asking yourself that, then maybe not. But if you feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders then yes." he said. I nodded. I didn't know if I felt any better, but I'd say I didn't....

Our house looked the same, it wasn't like Hawaii thats for sure. Jackson helped me unpack then he called Jonah.

"You gonna be ok here by yourself?"

"Ofcourse." I said. He smiled and walked out. I was happy he had a boyfriend.

Really all I wanted right now was my Mom. I wanted to vent, cry, hug her, just see her. But that wouldn't happen for a while.

I dialed her number. "HEY Julie!" she cried. Wow she sounded happy.

"Hi Mom," I SAID.

"Is everything ok?" she asked.

"Um yeah, just hanging."

"Ok, well Alaska is gorgeous the sun is coming up!" she cried. I had forgot it was only 10.

"Oh cool!" I said trying to act like I was ok.

"Your father and I are having the time of our lives, we miss you guys SO MUCH!!!! How is Jackie's arm?"

"Oh gosh, he's fine you know him!" I said.

"Good, well I'd better go. Thanks for calling. I miss you JUL'S!!!!" she said sweetly.

"I miss you SO much." I said starting to cry.

"Are you crying?" she asked nicely.

"Yeah, cutting um..onions." I lied.

"It sounds like something is bothering you Julianna." she said. I broke down. YES THERE IS SOMETHING BOTHERING ME, I JUST LEFT HAWAII AND THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!

"MOM, don't worry about it!" I said.

"I'm starting to worry." she said.

"Ok, love you, bye!" I said hanging up. I burried my head in my pillow.

I woke up at 1AM to seventeen missed calls. OH CRAP. It read:

MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM, MOM, STEVE, STEVE, MOM, STEVE, MOM, MOM, STEVE, STEVE, STEVE, MOM.

I listened to my voicemails.

"Julie, your Dad and I are coming home. Its been five days, and thats long enough, see you soon." Mom said. That was five hours ago. I listened to the next one,

"Julianna Ambra, is this the reason you have a phone! ANSWER!" Mom said. I frowned ugh.

The next message was from a familiar voice, "Hi,it's me. Um, I just need to talk to you please pick up. Call back, I'm not asleep." Steve said. I first dialed Mom's number.

"Hello?" she said.

"Sorry, I fell asleep." I said. Her voice was getting closer and closer, then she was standing at my door. I ran and jumped in her arms and tears fell again.

"Did you miss me or what!" she cried.

"MOM!" I said kissing her cheek. She stroked my hair then sat me down on my bed.

"What is wrong Julie?" I asked. I looked at her.

"Mom, are you and Dad divorcing???" I asked. She put her head down,

"No!" she said.

"DON'T LIE!" I said seriously.

"We WERE going too because we didn't think we were in love, but Alaska proved us wrong, is that whats been upsetting you? You can tell me honey!" she said.

"Mom. Do you remember Steve Owens?" I said.

"Ofcourse,"

"I...I..I...he and I we were dating." I said. She hugged me. ?

"Why are you hugging me! You should be YELLING!" I said.

"No I shouldn't," she said.

"I have known for about five months now." she said. I was shocked.

"WHAT!"

"Saphire Owens called me and told me. I knew about Hawaii and everything. Why are you here?" she asked me. My head started spinning. WHAT!

"Mom, I don't understand."

"She got our permission, and Mother to Mother she wanted me to know. I'm glad I heard it from you."

I hugged her, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you Mom."

"You know, its ok. Your Dad and I have adjusted and we WANT to meet him." she said smiling.

"I broke up with him." I said.

"Why?"

"Because I had to lie to be with him."

"WELL GUESS WHAT!" she said handing me a slip of paper. I read it and hugged her until we both were crying. It was magical.
