I watched as she ran back into the house. I yelled for her to come back. I screamed for her to turn around. I struggled against the arms that hold me back keeping me from going after her and doing the same thing she was about to do. I felt like I was watching a movie because as soon as she disappeared into the house it went up in flames.

I wake up struggling against the blankets on my bed and screaming like someone was murdering me, screaming was the only sound I made since that night. The single most worse night of my life and I was forced to relive it ever night and ever day of my life.

Mason my brother comes running into my room looking worried. He sighs when he see me up. When the nightmares get really bad I have trouble waking myself up.

Liam sits up from the ground where i no doubt kicked him when the nightmares started. Mason doesn't said anything it was like this ever night.

I took a deep breath that night was so clear in my mind after almost two years. I know Mason hasn't moved on either but I was there when it happened. He wasn't.

"Come on, Scarlett we should go back to bed." Mason told me softly.

I shook my head no way in hell could I go back to bed after what I just saw.

Liam climbed into my lap and put his tiny arms around me. He laid his head on my chest and closed his eyes.

"Scar, we have that meeting with the neighboring pack tomorrow remember?"

"Yes, Mason I don't need the remainder" I signed to him careful not to wake Liam again who fell right back to sleep.

He sighed. "Okay, I'll see you in the morning."

I nodded and laid back in bed hoping to fall into a dreamless sleep.

^*^*^*

"Mom," someone said as they shook me.

I moved away from them I didn't want to get up.

"Mom, Mason not going to be happy that your late." Liam told me shaking me.

I turned and faced him. He pointed at the clock that read half past nine in the morning. Crap! I was late the meeting started half and hour ago. Mason going to have my head.

Five minutes later I was making my way to the office where all meetings were held. I knocked before I open the door.

Mason stop in mid-sentence when he saw me walking into the room. Everyone else stopped talking as well. A lot of people didn't know that two people ran our pack.

"I'm sorry I'm late Mason I over slept."
I told him. Mason smile.

"Its okay," Mason said. He was being weird.

'The other Alpha's running late your not in trouble for being late' Mason told me though our mind link.

I looked around the room. I did notice the other two Wolves when I walked in. They stood in the corner of the room. Their eyes started watching me as soon as I walked in.

They both were tall and muscular. The first guy had blonde hair and tan skin. The other had light brown hair and his skin was sun kissed like spent all his time in the sun.

Mason was talking to our Beta so he didn't hear that someone had knocked on the door. I rolled my eyes at him. When I open the door I was met with a really tall guy he had black hair and deep blue eyes. That I got lost in as soon as they meet mine.

'Mate!' My Wolf howled in joy.

"Mine!" He growled very loudly it took everything in me not to cower away from him.

Mason kept looking between Alpha Layton and me. I could tell he was shocked just as much as I was.

"What is your name?" He had asked softly. The meanest Alpha in the state was talking to me softly that funny

I didn't answer what was I going to do. It wasn't that I didn't want to it was I couldn't

Mason spoke up before he could said anything else. "Her names Scarlett"

Alpha Layton head snapped up and looked at Mason with a death glare. If looks could kill.

"I didn't ask you I asked her." Alpha Layton said coldly.

I rolled my eyes at him as Mason said. "She doesn't talk."

Alpha Layton looked down at me. "Why?" I looked away from him that was something I couldn't even talk to Mason about there was no way was I going to talk a stranger.

"That's something she'll have to talk you when she's ready."

Alpha Layton growled at that I knew he wanted to know now. The blonde guy walk over to us.

"Alpha," he said bowing his head a little. "Does this mean our trip here is over?"

"Yes, we leave in an hour." He told the guy. The guy nodded and walked back to the corner.

Alpha Layton looked back to me. "My Beta will follow you home bag some things your coming with me."

I just started up at him. Was he serious? What if I didn't want to go with him?

My Wolf growled at me telling me we were going with our mate weather I like to or not.

Like Alpha Layton said his Beta did follow me as soon as I left the office. As I was walking out and towards my home Liam meet me.

"Mom," Liam said before wrapping his hands around me.

I smiled at him and picked him up. Layton's Beta didn't said anything to us only glared at Liam who was starting back at him.

After a few minutes of their starting match Liam asked.

"Who are you?"

At first I didn't think he would answer Liam but he took me by surprise when he said.

"Jackson"

"Why are you following us?" Liam continued questioning him.

"Alpha Layton told me too."

Liam raised an eyebrow. Which looked cute on a six and half year old.

"Why?"

'Liam that's not any of your business' I told him through our mind link.

"But I want to know" Liam said out loud.

I shook my head but that didn't stop him from questioning the Beta.

"Why did your Alpha ask you to follow my mom?"

"She his mate and he didn't know she had a child." The statement was clearly made for me and not Liam.

I glared at him and didn't make any attempts to tell him what Liam really was the me.

Yes, I saved Liam from death after the attack that killed my parents. But no his wasn't my real son no matter how much I wanted that to be true.
