Chapter Six

I watch as Mason pulls a key out of his pants and opens the door.

"Mom!" Liam says after Mason opens the door. Liam jumps into my waiting arms.

"Mason locked me in here all week." Liam tells on Mason "also he found his mate"

That stopped me. I put Liam on the ground but he kept his arms around me.

'Mason?'

"Thanks a lot Liam" Mason says.

'Mason why didn't you tell me!'

"Have you forgotten I didn't get a chance to because you wanted to know where Liam was."

I took a deep breath I feel bad now. 'I'm sorry where is she l liked to meet her.'

"Scar, we need to get you back to Layton or his going to worry maybe next time."

Of course I wasn't going to tell him all of why I came here or how. I just nodded my head at him. There was no next time.

'Mason, I didn't tell the whole reason of why I'm here.' I start to lie. 'Layton says I can bring Liam'

"Really?!" Liam says before Mason can day something.

I nod my head. "Okay,"

'We're going to leave now but I do want to see your mate next time.'

I hated to lie that's why I have to leave now or I'm going to tell him everything.

"Okay, I'll let Layton know your on your way."

'No! It's okay I have Jackson waiting' oh the lies.

I wasn't going back to Midnight Shadow ever I knew if I stayed here Mason would tell Layton and he'll come and get me.

Michael followed me until I was on the edge of the territory.

"I hope you know what you're doing Scarlett." He said before turning back and heading deeper into Golden Gate.

I hope I did too.

"Mom, you need to take a break before you fall." Liam told me.

I stopped and Liam climbed off my back.

"Mom what's going on? Why did you come and get me? Are you running from Layton because you need your mate"

I shifted and pulled the shirt I took from Mason on.

'Layton doesn't want you so he's keeping me from seeing you that's why we're running'

I picked Liam up and continued walking I had no clue where we were id even know if they're on another packs territory.

Liam put his head on my shoulder and I knew he was tired. About fifteen minutes later we heard a twig snap.

Great! Liam picked up his head and pulled my hair around my mark.

"Cover up your scent." He says "maybe we can try acting human"

Thank god for him I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have him. I do what he says as he starts talking.

"Mommy I don't think it was a good idea to leave the car"

He wait a minute like he's waiting for my reply. But I really know if he's listening for the other Wolves.

"Yeah, but what did uncle Mason say?"

I looked at him raising a brow.

"Even if the car broke down stay in the car and call him he'll come it us."

I listen to them they had moved behind a few trees. Probably shifting back but still listening to us or well, Liam.

"What if we're lost now?"

I put Liam on the ground as we continue to walk deeper into the woods.

"I'm scared mommy."

I sighed trying to play my part and picked him up again.

Liam laid his head on me as tears came down his faces. This time he wasn't playing we probably will get killed.

They two guys stepped into our path when they realized we weren't going to continue talking.

"Mommy look," Liam says pointing at them. "We could ask them of help."

Liam was really good at acting. Setting Liam down on the ground he runs over to them.

"Hey, can you help us?"

They stare at him for a minute. "Please? We're lost and tired"

The guy with dark hair nods and says "follow us."

They walk ahead of us talking about us. They really believed that we were human.

"Do you think we can trust them?" One of the guys asked.

"Don't know maybe we should let Alpha deal with them."

"Charles their human"

"So? They still trespassed." Charles says. "And what if their witches?"

"We would've smelled it."

We walked for a while before we started seeing houses. The guy Charles walked to what looked like a pack house because it was bigger than most of the house around it.

Opening the door the other guy who's name I was yet to know walked in first Charles followed after Liam and I.

People who were sitting around, walking to their rooms, or whatever they were doing stopped and stared.

Charles knocked on a door to his right.

"Seth we have visitors" Charles says.

Liam who haven't said anything since walking into the house starts asking questions like a human would.

"You have a big house." Was the first thing he says. For some reason I felt like I knew that Alpha but from where I have no clue.

"Who are all these people? And do they all live here?"

Seth who I know was an Alpha frowned at all the questions.

"Slow down little one," he says nicely but I could hear the order behind it.

I put Liam down so he could sit down. I keep ur arm around him though.

"Are you going to help us?" Liam asked

"Yes, I am." He lies. I could tell I always could tell if someone was lying.

Liam nods and Seth says "Charles why don't you take the boy to one of the guest room's?"

Charles nods his head. My hold on Liam tightens as he walks closer. I try my best not to growl at him.

Liam looks up at me his eyes seem to tell me 'I'll be okay,' with that I let him go and Charles takes him and brings him out the door.
