I'm bringing a few characters from Fight For Me into this chapter because I feel like it. cx And this is almost a year after the last chapter of Fight For Me, but it's before the epilogue.
Chapter 42
Grayson walked into my bedroom, laying down beside me on my bed. "Are you still mad at me?" he asked.
I sighed. He was asking that every single hour for the past four days. "Grayson, I'm not mad," I said.
Grayson frowned. "I don't know about that. Recently, it feels like you're ignoring me. Be honest. Are you still mad?"
"Honestly?" I asked. He nodded. "Mad, no, not really. I'm just a bit hurt. What you said was the meanest thing you've ever said to me and I never thought you would ever say that. And I know you didn't really mean it, but....It still hurt."
"I promised I would make it up to you," Grayson said, moving closer to me, his lips hovering over my ear. "And I don't break my promises, especially to my Flower. My incredibly sexy as hell Flower."
"I thought you were incredibly sexy as hell," I said.
Grayson scooted closer to me, one of his arms wrapping around my waist. "I can settle to giving you half the title," Grayson said with a smile. "Mostly because if I piss you off today, you'll most likely tell me to screw off."
"Don't worry, I won't," I said. "Probably."
"Good," Grayson said. "So, about me making it up to you. I hope you're up to going out somewhere today."
"Do we have to?" I asked. "I'm not really in the mood to go out anywhere?"
Grayson pouted, giving me a begging look. "Please, Flower. I really want to make it up to you after what I said."
"You don't have to," I said.
Grayson pulled me closer to him, using his other hand to brush the hair out of his face. "What I said was hurtful," he said. "I know it was. And I want to make it up to you because you said you're still hurt by it. So we're going out today, okay babe?"
"I don't want to go anywhere," I said.
Grayson gave me a smirk and I immediately knew what he was going to do. "I bet I can change your mind," he said mischievously.
"No, Grayson, don't do it," I said.
"Too late," Grayson said before angling himself so his lips trailed kisses down my neck. His lips were so warm and comforting. I loved when he kissed me, but I hated when he did it so he could convince me to do something.
Well, I wasn't going to cave in this time.
I had a plan that was probably not going to work, but it was worth a shot. "You know," I said as he continued to kiss my neck. "I do enjoy you kissing me."
"I know," he murmured.
"And you're kissing me to get me to agree," I said. "And by not agreeing, you're going to keep kissing me. So the answer is still no."
Grayson pulled away and looked at me. "You just confused the hell out of me," he said with furrowed eyebrows.
"Let me make it clear for you," I said, placing my hands on the back of his neck. I pulled him towards me, keeping his face inches from mine as he hovered over me. "I am not going out today and nothing you say or do will change my mind. I promise that I am not mad at you and it won't take me that long to get over what you said. You don't have to make it up to me."
